There's a convention in Charlotte, North Carolina that I hope to attend this summer. I've never visited Charlotte nor anywhere in North Carolina before. I'll be there for about 2 days over the weekend. Are there any must-see places, must-eat food, or anything special that you'd recommend while visiting?
it's a ways out of town - stewart's village gallery (40 min drive with no traffic), but if you like art/crafts this is a really nice place for wood/ceramics/glass and some other stuff, a couple of rooms crammed with stuff, a little expensive, yes, but not outrageous
>>2868495Thanks! Thats not too long of a drive. I see a Museum of the Waxhaws nearby that place. Is that worth going to as well? Looks interesting.
>>2868565it's only open on weekendsthe surrounding area was like fancy gated estates and luxury cars
>>2868494No. It is dull as fuck.
>>2868494nice place to live, but it has no soul and not worth visiting.
>>2868565>>2868566There was a fire that burned down one of their authentic historic buildings very recently, not even trolling unfortunately. I think the main museum building is ok, but it's quite small. Went on a field trip there as a kid, it was 3-4 small rooms with glass cases & artifacts. It was interesting, but might not be worth a 3-4 hour detour on a two day trip. You might like the whitewater center more if you're an outdoorsy type.
>>2870556Also you will certainly spend more time driving than you will in the museum. It's like if someone ran a museum out of their home, or a small doctor's office. It's neat, but will be very underwhelming if you make that drive from uptown just for the museum.
