I might be required to travel to Vilnius for a few weeks. What's it like there? Is it relatively safe or are there any scams to watch out for? Can you get taxis or transportation easily, especially from the airport? Do most people speak English? And are budget apartments good to stay in over hotels or are they shitholes? Thanks for any help!
>>2870511It's Europe so mostly cashless and there's all kinds of apps for getting around. Young people will speak it well, older people not so much. No idea about accommodation but I'd probably try renting a flat type accommodation over a hotel if you plan to live comfortably and use a kitchen. If not a big hotel room is probably fine.Baltics are kind of expensive BTW, dont expect it to be very cheap.
>>2870511It's 0.75 EUR to ride the airport rail to the train station. Very nice airport. Vilnius itself has a lot of old buildings, snobbish people, Ukraine flags, and high prices for everything particularly in the city center. Your standard Euro city, basically. >>2870514>mostly cashlessTrue. ATMs are rare, but still exist. LT is the only country so far I traveled around with virtually no cash in my wallet. I paid fruit vendors with euros, but even they gladly accepted card payments.>>2870514Hotels should have kitchens.
