What is it like to do solo backpacking in Japan? I want to larp as a lonely salaryman.
>>2871268>$5 per nightYeah no
>>2871268absolute freedom and peace. also, if waste your vacation crying about how lonely you are, you are a miserable cunt and japan wont save you
>>2871268Kaikatsu Club/net cafe thread? Anyone have any recent experiences? Certainly not $5 per night.
>>2871268>backpacking >larp as a lonely salarymanThere's two different things here.If you want to larp as a lonely salaryman, you rent a regular mid-range hotel, you take the subway at peak hours and go eat at the local ramen place. That's a good larp.Backpacking is a different thing. It's going to a hostel, being a tourist among other 20 year old western tourists.
>>2871670$5 an hour
>>2871268It's noisy. I prefered capsule hotels and business hotels. Though you can still hear snoring salary men there too. Kurage and onigiri from Lawson. Wash it down with a Strong Zero.
>>2871842Can people still smoke in them?
>>2871268Japan's great for this. Lots of amazing places to go where being solo is normal, it's not like Europe where every restaurant is built around going with a group
>>2871843If you are gaijin, yes
>>2871268I've backpacked through japan and there are cheap capsule hotels and Minshuku but i would pay atleast 2000yen for it. Anything less than that and you are risking bed bugs and other sanitary issues.Internet cafes are not cheap anymore. They used to be cheap back in the day.
>>2872231And then a "No Gaijin" sign goes up
>>2871670>kaikatsu clubit was full of other gaijin otaku's and indians for obvious reasons, the toilets were dirtier than the average public toilet you encounter in Japan. public spaces were kind of gross as well. You'd think they would clean it better because you're paying for it but they don't. I went to about 3 or 4 of them and they were all the same. It really isn't worth it because there are hotel deals you can find that go from 3500yen per night, thats the same price you're paying for 8 hours at the shit club. Basically anywhere thats been shilled heavily on the internet to gaijins are going to suck like Akihabara which was the dirtiest place ive ever been to in Japan when i visited. The toilets in the area were always packed, and if you really had to go you'd be forced to indirectly touch some fat gaijin otaku ass
