Something gets lost in translation when it comes to Japanese convenience store food. It is indeed better than American convenience store food, but it's still not good food. I ate it a few times out of "convenience" and it all tasted like bland shit.Whereas proper Japanese food is indeed really good.Also I think the reason convenience store food took off in Japan at all is because they have like no fucking takeout food culture anywhere, so the convenience slop is literally the only quick option.
