Did anyone visit Jorvik Viking Festival as a reenactor? How it was? Is it difficult to get access here? What would I need hypothetically?

Hey man its a cool subject but there are way better places (or things to ask). For example Im just going to copy paste it into my ai agent right now and lets see what it says.

Right, so basically I got a full highly detailed rundown of requirements and "kit" standards, and how to go about finding an organization or club to get entry as a reenactor. You cant just show up.

Anyways my point is that its a very specific question that almost nobody has knowledge off except for a small cohort who likely arent even on 4chan. If you want a thread about traveling to events of this sort maybe consider getting the info first, laying it out, then asking if anyone else is interested.

I asked AI too, but I wanted to talk with someone about this experience in personal. Anyway, thank you!

>Jorvik Viking festival
no clue about that one

but my medieval town and nearby castle always organize a big ren fair (Mittelalterfestival)
combination of a big, casual arts and crafts market throughout the historical city center and a strict larp / tournament in the castle

and to get into the castle (as a non-spectator)
you only need a very minimal outfit that fits the aesthetic
obviously it's a lot cooler if you come with more
but simple leather shoes, doublet or shirt and wide heavy pants are already enough as long as the colors are not too vibrant and it's mostly (rough) linen / wool / leather / fur

the simplest outfit is probably a long (linen) tunic with leather belt and boots

honestly just write the organizers an email and ask about it
they'll most likely be very thrilled for new people and gladly help
>>
They have a faq on their website.

Tl;dr you need to be part of a known club or organization that enforces setting standards, since it's a "strict" reenactment, and its important that everyone knows the rules for interaction.

YORK not Jorvik. Please don't use Danish place names for UK cities. Let's use the local names!
