Should I go here? There is almost no information about this place on the Internet. There seems to be some very old Spanish history there maybe.Doesn't look like there is even oil field. Only dirt roads for many miles.Zooming in on the satellite imagery, looks like there may be some structures. I want to go and take pictures and document this place for the Internet. Seems like a very mysterious place. My main concern is whether it is inhabited/private property. I'll probably rent an AWD vehicle for this. It is several hours driving for me. Google maps will draw a route all the way to the place where the name is.Thoughts on this plan?
>>2872425It’s almost certainly on private property and they take that shit very seriously. You could find out who the landowners are and get permission to take photographs. I’m guessing that it’s not anything cool like an old Spanish mission, which would be well documented. “Christian” could be a last name, like jazz guitarist Charlie Christian, so it’s like the “old Smith place” an abandoned ranch house or something. Don’t my mean to detail your quest and there’s a lot of cool shit in West Texas worth exploring.
>>2872509The general rule in Texas is that if there is no fence, you're free to wander cross-country. But you cannot cross any fenceline. The vast majority of Texas is fenced. >>2872425I recommend going to Big Bend Ranch State Park if you want to explore. It's a big chunk of public land with all sorts of springs and secluded arroyos. Bandit country.
>>2872509I think it is likely private property, but if it's oil field, they won't care as there is no equipment around. I do fear that someone is actually living there, because I'm assuming that type of person would shoot with no warning. Is there a good way to find out who owns rural land like that in Texas?
>>2872591>Is there a good way to find out who owns rural land like that in Texas?county property tax records? sometimes searchable online
>>2872425>There seems to be some very old Spanish history there maybe.what makes you think this though? People in the US slap Christianity/bible phrases on everything.
