Hey anons, Im planning on travelling the entirety of Europe. I am originally British but luckily have citizenship in an EU country which should prevent EU travel for brits from being an absolute prick.

The plan is for me to take a shitty caravan from Britain - France and drive across western, central, eastern and southern Europe.

Im probably gonna fly to every Scandinavian country as I heard driving is extremely expensive round there.

My budget is £35-40k ($46-53k)

Any travel suggestions are welcome, gotta somewhat live life

How long are you planning to travel for?
What's your plan when you get home?
>>
>>2872611
Im hoping for around a year.
Once I finish my journey across mainland Europe I intend to travel the entirety of the British Isles. After my travelling I hope to maybe go off the grid, not much of a people's person
>>
>>2872617
Bitch where is your money coming from?
>>
>>2872648
He's a tinker with an Irish passport stealing copper as he goes. Why do you think he has a caravan?

>The plan is for me to take a shitty caravan from Britain - France and drive across western, central, eastern and southern Europe.
Terrible idea, you're stuck with that piece of shit at campsites that are often 5km+(if you're lucky) from town center. Budget seems bait-ish but at that point what the fuck is stopping you from flying/using trains and staying at hotels?
>Im probably gonna fly to every Scandinavian country as I heard driving is extremely expensive round there.
And then you would rather not drive in the one part of the continent where you'll see next to nothing without a car? What the fuck.

>caravan
>probably gonna fly to every Scandinavian country as I heard driving is extremely expensive round there
what exactly makes you think this??

the actual camping / driving will likely be the cheapest
in most of southern and central Europe you will be limited / forced to dedicated camping places, charging on avg 30-40€/night (that's outside of high season and city camping)
while in Scandinavia it's wild camping and free caravan places are much more common
gasoline prices are fucked everywhere rn, so doesn't matter that much

genuinely avoid Switzerland though
it'll eat through your budget like crazy

also a Caravan will limit you mostly to outside the cities like >>2872695 said

and with your budget you could easily do (nicer) hostels / cheap hotels + Interrail
an oldfag 1st class Interrail pass for 12months is only ~4k€
which leaves you ~110€/day
if you're clever about timing, accommodations and food, it's a comfortable budget

>Any travel suggestions are welcome
do 1 Month each for the 5 big ones Spain, France, Germany, Italy and Poland
southern Europe is nicest in Spring / Autumn to avoid the crowds and heat
if you're into Christmas markets, go to Germany in December (add Strasbourg and Vienna)
northern Europe or Alps / Pyrenees / Carpathian (if you're into hiking) in Summer

what are your interests?
>>
>>2872648
Inheritance.

Lol, I'm half German fuckwit.

I don't intend on staying at campsites lmao, I'll park where I please. I will be very rarely entering cities/ town centers, due to my disinterest in busy public places. If absolutely needed I can compromise and take a taxi.

>Budget seems bait-ish but at that point what the fuck is stopping you from flying/using trains and staying at hotels?

I prefer the countryside, flying/using train's removes most of that aspect and limits me to only cities and bigger towns.I will stay at some hotels, but nothing too lavish.

>And then you would rather not drive in the one part of the continent where you'll see next to nothing without a car? What the fuck.

I meant getting the actual caravan up there, I'll rent a car. I'm trying to keep the cost down.

I was not aware around such, if there really are wild camping spots I may have to take the caravan up lmao. Which would be the best route, via ferry or through Russia? I do intend to visit Russia during my travels, but that depends how restricted the Finnish-Russian border is.

>genuinely avoid Switzerland though
it'll eat through your budget like crazy

Had a friend who went, said it was beautiful. I could get round the price, I can raise the budget slightly. I got 180k (pound) in inheritance, so I've only dedicated so little to my Europe Travel budget.

>also a Caravan will limit you mostly to outside the cities like >>2872695 said

I'm not too interested in cities, I will most likely take a taxi or bus to the city if needed.

I have considered Interrail but I simply want to see the countryside. I love nature and hiking, which has mostly influenced my decision to take a caravan.

Poland is a beauty in the summer. Is Hungary any good or not really?

>what are your interests?

Only really hiking, sight seeing, camping and seeing old battlefields.
>>

>Which would be the best route, via ferry
no you can just drive via the Øresund Bridge from Denmark to Sweden
>or through Russia?
i'd really recommend skipping this for now
borders are not entirely closed, but heavily restricted

there are plenty of maps for where wild camping is allowed in Europe

>I can raise the budget slightly
Switzerland will be roughly double what you'd pay in e.g. Germany
it's not impossible, like if you do the grand tour route in 3 weeks, it'll be maybe 4k€ instead of otherwise 2-3k€
so not super bad but a noticeable dent in your budget
avoiding restaurants will already help a lot there

>will most likely take a taxi or bus to the city if needed
or take your car and leave the caravan
if you genuinely don't like cities that much, the location of camping spots won't be much of a problem

>love nature and hiking
yeah, I'd stay with the car
hiking with public transport works really well in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and maybe some parts of France and Spain
but it's gonna be a pain everywhere else

>Poland is a beauty in the summer.
and in winter, and in autumn and in spring kek
>Is Hungary any good or not really?
oh it's beautiful, late summer is probably the best time
there's easily enough to do for a 2 weeks road trip around

>Only really hiking, sight seeing, camping and seeing old battlefields.
you'll love northern France and Belgium
Verdun or Normandy are genuinely impressive

if you're interested in like Medieval history / wars
you should probably do like 2-3 months in Germany

I never knew there was a bridge... fucking hell, thanks alot dude you are a life saver.

>i'd really recommend skipping this for now

Touché, I'm hoping the political situation clears up soon. I would like to visit both Ukraine and Russia.

Double??? I am considering raising my budget 10-15k It surely won't do too much harm.

My dad a couple years ago advised to take a caravan. But honestly as I put more thought into it, a car will probably be more efficient and easier to drive round in.

>and in winter, and in autumn and in spring kek

I went to Poland in the winter when I was young with my family, I remember how much snow there was. Far more than in Britain.

>oh it's beautiful, late summer is probably the best time

I've always dreamt about going to Hungary, due to your confirmation I'm 100% going.

>you'll love northern France and Belgium
Verdun or Normandy are genuinely impressive

I went to Normandy once, It was so beautiful. I have a notebook filled with hiking/sight seeing spots in Europe that I MUST visit.

>if you're interested in like Medieval history / wars you should probably do like 2-3 months in Germany

I absolutely Intend to, old battlefield are interesting. Always fascinated me,
