I will be in Denver next month. What are some of the lesser known interesting things to see there? I went once before, did breweries and saw a lot of the city itself and estes park so I want to explore beyond it like an 80 mile radius. I like nature and small towns so anything like that interests me or anything historical.

Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden, with steam trains, static displays and models. Golden is ok. Georgetown Loop scenic railroad is a short but spectacular ride and there’s mine tours nearby. Avoid Black Hawk and Central City, once historic mining towns ruined by casinos. Otherwise anything away from I-70 west in the mountains is cool. It helps to have a car but there’s some buses into the mountains.
