>rent airbnb for first time
>autistically constantly asking if the host needs help with this or that or money for supplies he's given us for free
>roommate is a sperg who chips the wall
>offer to pay
>host says no no it's okay mate
>leaving and give good review
>review from host appears
>"guest shit and damage stuff and they wore shoes on my floor"
okay fag why didn't you tell me then
is the host just autistic too
>>
you have to read the tea leaves when choosing airbnbs and choose ones that have short or at least not overly emotional descriptions
if they have a lot of rules or conditions in the listing, they are gonna be neurotic irl

don't feel bad, it happens to everyone
>>

thats the bizarre thing, it was short and there weren't many rules in the listing
like we did make some genuine mistakes and that's fair but to go "and i would not recommend them to hosts" when it was his own lack of communication. it felt somewhat akin to knowing a person who doesn't tell you their issues with you and then you find out later they hate you
i don't feel bad but i am a little worried, idk how this works for future guesting. i didn't even know there WERE guest reviews
>>

the people who rent airbnbs are a weird group and its better to not take it personaly or it will haunt your brain like a ghost

for your next bookings you can try to set it to instant book - those hosts tend to be less insane

was it the kind of booking where you had to request to book and submit info about why you wanted to stay?
> i didn't even know there WERE guest reviews
its the worst part relative to hotels, but I think the rest of it is worth it to outweigh that

and you can always message future hosts and justify yourself, if they aren't understanding, it wasn't meant to be I got rejected by one host (definitively) for having a bad review - I got ~ 3 out of maybe 20 stays last year
>>

this one was an instant booking and as i say, not a single problem till i saw the review he gave. if he had issues, the fact he didn't tell me is like, what's the deal there? i guess he just wanted the five stars i gave him because he was a very good host, which is specifically why i went out of my way to offer to pay for things he was offering. he says in the review that he felt like he had to be our mother because he was 'doing the laundry' but i specifically said 'can i pay for some detergent and i'll wash our clothes' and he went 'oh i'll do it for you', the whole thing was very confusing
>>
>>2873358
just move on from the experience, you will never talk to him again and it won't matter in 6 months time
he has a side, you have a side, I can't see down the middle

this is fair anon thank you
i guess i was really just worried about if people give a shit about the review but if the average person won't then i'll just keep that in mind instead
>>

Sounds like you were being a constant annoyance with all these petty issues. Unless you were paying $20/night to stay there, you should've assumed that detergent, cooking oil and other supplies were included in the payment.
>>
>>2873382
I always bring my own cooking oil + "sink suds" little packets of detergent they are meant for hand washing but work fine in airbnb machines and more importantly have no smell I hate perfumed detergent and most airbnbs only have the scented stuff.

if i was being a constant annoyance why did he keep offering to do stuff for us
