European here. Is it worth travelling to sleepy New England towns during fall, just for local culture and vibes?
>>

Absolutely, but your photo was taken a thousand miles from the New England coast
>>

New England gets fucking packed ass to ass with tourists in the fall, so plan ahead accordingly. Id personally go very early October and hit up Boston if you like to learn about American history
>>
you would get better views in appalachia
but foliage timing is difficult and depends on precipitation as much as light and temperature
>>
>>2873417
yeah, sure, if that's what you want

It'll be fairly expensive, but I doubt it'd be too much different than European cost of living. It just won't be the cheap travel you could get to other parts of the world. That being said, New England is beautiful and as far as America goes has the most history and tradition. If you're into the vibes that you're describing then I'd say it's worth seeing. Maybe go to a Patriot's game too. They're good again, and American football is a big part of American culture. Even if you don't know the rules it's still a good time

I love it here. We'd love to have you. Come to Rhode Island, just don't ask too many questions in Federal Hill
>>
I wouldn't call it "sleepy", but Salem, MA during October is pretty rad ngl.

???????

It's only crowded when compared to heartland America. Traffic is slow, narrow through roads pass through town centers with 25 mph speed zones, numerous pedestrian crossings, etc. The population density and road layout is more akin to Europe.

Go to Martha's Vineyard and drive around for the true vibe. Or drive from Boston to Montreal and stop in towns like Stowe, VT on the way. Generally north of Boston you will find the sleepy towns. Avoid Burlington, VT.

Salem is a fucking nightmare to find parking in and walk around. Also way too many blue hairs and freaks for my liking. Very overrated.

This wasn't just a scene from The Sopranos, it was a documentary. There was a great restaurant near there that """""burned down""""" because they didn't pay protection racket. They also have their hands in the state's largest scandal to date, the Washington Bridge closure, where Peter (((Alviti))) was retained by the governor because they were friends o qualcosa

it is big enough to handle the tourist load

Drug addicted homeless all over the downtown. The actual city is nice but the fentanyl-folding zombies ruin it.
>>
>>2873417
Yes. Do it at, or before peak (Columbus Day, typically). Max, up to a week after. This is for Northern New England.
The southern states get an extra week or so depending how far south.
Foliage varies every year, there's no predicting it until it's starting to happen.
People have different preferences, but IMO VT is the comfiest one. NH a close second. Otherwise, stick to the coastal towns.

>>2874642
The area's still one of, if not the nicest areas of VT. But the city went from being an unbelievably cool town to Portlandia with more fentanyl.
>>
>>2874545
lol u serious? The small towns in new england blow their canadian counterparts completely out of the water. If you did your road trip in Canada you would be completely bored out of your mind
>>
Why would you ever go to America, ever
