Chile really appeals to me more than other South American countries i love its mountains has anyone been there? how cheap is it compared to other South American countries? what are the cities like?
>>2873596You need a fair bit of money to enjoy Chile. It's a lot more expensive than Asia, that's for sure. Rooms are expensive, restaurants are expensive, transiting the country is expensive, and flights are expensive.Chileans are mestizos and have a peaceful reputation, but unfortunately the country hosts a huge number of Venezuelan migrants who loiter around up to no good. So Chile has become much like other South American countries in terms of street-level insecurity. The Chileans I've met have been very nice people. But after experiencing life in Asia, its affordability and safety and cultural wonders, travel to South America doesn't fit the bill anymore.
>>2873612are the haitians still there?
i was there in 2024, first solo trip, hitchhiked from santiago to chiloe.hitchhiking once you leave santiago is really easy.got offered a lot of joints despite weed being illegal.half the people that offered me rides let stay at their houses and gave me food. the further south you go the nicer the people are.cities are shit, santiago is a venezuelan infested shithole. valdivia and concepcion were nice but maybe for a day or two. Chile is mainly for the nature. Chilean women were the most open to hookups i've encountered really. slept with 3-4 women with no hassle. never met women so blunt about sex. the wooden churches in chiloe were awesome, took random boat rides to small islands in chiloe, literally felt like i was the end of the world.anyways it was super expensive, food, transportation (took buses a few times), lodging (did get a hotel a couple times), and everything else.honestly i am dying to go back, i loved chile. you'll have a great time. just don't trust any venezuelans or flaites (chilean low class ppl) they speak really distinct so you'll understand lol. anyways the food is good, lots of seafood, sopaipillas, marraquetas, i had a great time.happy travels anon.
