Is germany the prettiest country in europe?i fucking love their little castles and greenery
>>2874599Not really most of it was bombed to shit so many historical buildings are gone and its usually some brutalist shit that was put in place instead. South looks nicer than the rest of the country and its by far because of the mountains. France and Italy are easily much nicer, especially Italy, probably the most beautiful country on the planet. You also get good food in those places. Every time I was in Germany I was bored to tears, honestly I'd only return to visit my friends or to go out.
>>2874599Definitely not. It's below at least Italy, France, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Austria and Spain with no particular order.
>>2874623>many historical buildings are gone i dont get it, when i was there it seemed to me that most buildings were old, although i guess i only went to the touristy placeswere just mosttly just the big cities that were bombed and the small town were left untouched?> Italywell i agree with you, italy looks great i guess. i am from there so to me the magic is gone after seeing the true country
>>2874635i've never been to any of the nordic states, do i miss out on a lot? to me they look really depressing
>>2874638They are ok.Go in the summer so you can experience the summer nights. Even if you don't go above the arctic circle there is sunlight well into the night.
>>2874635Dunno, I've been all over all of the countries you list and my last trip to Germany made my heart go pitter-patter as much as anywhere else in Europe. And that's not even giving it credit for having peak midwinter comfiness vibes around Christmas. Where in Italy can you ride a bicycle through a forest of enormous beech trees and have lunch at a working monastery where the monks serve you homemade beer?>>2874623I too used to hate brutalism, but once you understand it you can appreciate it and even find it charming. Especially when the alternative is neocapitalist large-scale suburban developments (where a single brutalist tower block would have sufficed) or globohomo glass skyscrapers. Brutalism has a legitimate place in the lineage of European architecture, neoliberal-kitsch architecture like fake-cutesy "modern village living" abominations does not.

You ever see photos of the Dolomites? The Greek isles? The coast in Croatia?
>>2874660>where in italy can forest monks give u beer?In italy you get wine served by a smoking hot mama in a vineyard with a slight breeze blowing Where was the forest beer bicycle ride?
>>2874660Probably in most of the aforementioned countries
>>2874599Germany is nice but rural Italy is objectively one of the most beautiful places I’ve been too
>>2874599>Is germany the prettiest country in europe?depends on what you wantfor idyllic castles with nice cafes and hikes around through the vineyards, it's the best in the worldGermany is probably one of densest touristic developed countriesbecause Germans love to travel and (proportionally) spend a lot of their money on travel>>2874623>most of it was bombed to shityou're vastly underestimating the "remaining" thingssome bigger cities were bombednot even all of thembut even there's still something historic at literally every cornermany rural areas were basically unscathed>>2874635>It's below at least >Italy, France, and Spainreally a different vibe, except maybe the border regions in Francecastles there are also very different architecturallynot to mention that the area of modern Germany throughout the last few centuries was a lot wealthier than most of France, Italy and Spain >Switzerland, AustriaAlps are prettier there with some very picturesque villagessome cities in Austria are nice, of course Viennabut otherwise Germany is much more diverse in terms of history and everything build that is not historic in Switzerland just looks like shit>Norway, Sweden, Iceland, again different vibeif you want to see that specific landscape, go to the Nordicsbut it's more of an /out/ destination
>>2874599people rarely talk about the natural beauty of germanybut yeah it's very nice :D
>>2874699>different vibeThat might be the weirdest argument I've ever seen. Basically every country has a different """vibe""", what's your point? And Germany is far from being the most diverse country in Europe
>>2874599Yeah
>>2874893>different """vibe"""just ask if you want me to translate / you don't understandhere you go>different landscape, cityscape, climate, behavior of people>same overall culture, pictures could be mistakes to be the same country by the uninformed>looks vaguely similar from a distance, but not if you're actually theree.g. Lyon and Dresden are similar in a lot of ways, yet you would not have the same experience going to either one, so I just say different vibe>And Germany is far from being the most diverse country in Europethat's probably Spain (in terms of biodiversity / nature and history), followed by Francebut diverse =/= prettiestand the discussion is stupid anyway because pretty is subjectivewhich was exactly the point of my prior postto show that depending on what you think constitutes as pretty, you'd chose a different country from the list
