>Last Thread: >>2869930RIP Lost Continent edition>What is this thread? Why are there two generals?/rcg/ was initially created as a way for the roller coaster enthusiasts on here to discuss all things roller coasters and theme parks. While roller coasters are the main focus of these threads (and the title of the general) there is also discussion on other theme parks, their rides, as well as the parks themselves and trip planning too. That's where /tpg/ comes in.>Can I talk about Disney/Universal parks in this thread?Absolutely! Disney/Universal discussion of all sorts including rides/resorts/dining/trip planning is OK.General Rules:1. Talk about Theme Parks and Rollercoasters.2. >>2874446>>2874513Replying to the other thread about the hippogriff coaster. It’s a clone, there are 28 others with the same layout including Dragon at Legoland about an hour away (which is better because they extended the layout to to start with a quick dark ride) and the Woodstock Express at Cedar Point. It’s a good layout for a baby coaster but nothing unique or special. Just a longer version of Barnstormer
I like how this superman rollercoaster has a themed queue based on the daily planet. Imagine if they had a spider-man outdoor coaster that had the exact same queue as the one at islands of adventurehttps://youtu.be/1BHPSurjOH4?t=44

what is the deal with theme park youtubers showing store merch NO ONE CARES ABOUT THE FUCKING TSHIRTS
New Disney theme park news from The Wrap>Shanghai Disney’s plans for Epcot 2 are scrapped. Now the 2nd park will be “something centered on Disney “adventures,” like Avatar” aka more random IPslop lands>Third Tokyo Disney park (tentative title Disneysky) is being planned>Reaffirmation that Disney is seriously considering scrapping the DCA Avatar land and bring Zootopia over instead https://archive.is/1t7g4
>>2874731>DisneyskyWhy does Japan get all the cool shit?
>>2874718Imagine if they used this supergirl design instead
You think magic kingdom could still have a shooting range of some kind? Maybe if they had it in Villain's land and they themed it to Gaston or Clayton from Tarzan?
>>2874736I never did the shooting gallery because I always assumed it was an upcharge to play and didn't care enough either way."Woke Disney" is a played out cheap excuse but I seriously doubt anyone there would push a shooting range attraction these days unless it was a very sanitized boardwalk carnival thing. And what would be the point anyway? >>2874738Anon, I did not give you permission to share my video.
why is everything at disney now catered to 5 year olds? What happened to making scary and actually fun rides and shows?
Big Thunder reopening May 3rd. I really wanna get back on it but I just know crowds are gonna be ridiculous in the park for a long time I don't know when I should attempt it. I guess gamble on rainy weather or something.
>>2874748thats true. you will have to queue up with all the fatties on mobility scooters first
>>2874732Because OLC runs the show not Disney so they can make investments Also do not be fooled this likely will just be very nicely wrapped together IP slop
>>2874731>Third Tokyo Disney park Where? Everything around the Tokyo Disney Resort is completely full, they definitely don't have any space there, at least nothing the size of a third park. Would they build it somewhere else in Tokyo? A third park in an entirely different part of the country?
>>2874749>fatties on mobility scootersdude, chill.
>>2869930Sup bros.Visiting the USA in summer this year and I'm thinking of getting a six flags pass. Can someone confirm if I'm understanding the perks, or if any of these points are incorrect?- Order prestige pass for Six flags over texas. - Visit six flags over texas to pick up and do first usage of pass. I Can use my "free friend tickets" on this first visit, right?- I have all fancy perks/VIP/Parking at this park and friends do too while with me?- Later in trip visit Cedar Point. I can also visit here as many days as i want, right?- I can also park for free here, but don't have pass perks/VIP stuff here, right? Also. I'm thinking of spending 2.5 days at Cedar, one waterpark day included. Will I be able to do at least the top best rides in that time? Mid JulyAppreciate any answers, the info online is hard to parse. Most is people comparing how the pass used to work to how it does now, but that doesn't help if you never knew.
>>2874766Land reclamation of the bay next to the parks, that’s how they built the original TDL park in the first placeIt is costly but will be far cheaper to simply reclaim land than trying to acquiring existing land, and it was the same back 40 years ago. The site is strategic so they will not have the land issues that Disneyland has if they want it while still being in a dense urban environment
Orlando desperately needs a hyper/giga. Mako looks like a hyper’s younger brother, very disappointing. Is there an unwritten rule you can’t go over 200ft? how do funspot/icon park get around it?
>>2874731Third park at Tokyo Disney is a no-brainer. The place is already pretty close to capacity year around (although they actually lowered capacity because they felt the parks were too busy which is one of the many reasons the OLC are great)The zootopia land at Shanghai is pretty great but a clone would be so lazy. Either way, Disney really need to sort out their pipeline for building new shit, whatever they were building should have already been past the groundwork stage by now.On a related note, here's the boats for the Lion King ride at Paris, a bit funny they didn't go with an African tree style. It's a modern splash mountain but at least it's not a direct clone. Biggest Show building at the resort (PoTC is probably the current biggest). Going to be a book report ride, hopefully this time they'll be sensible and the big drop is Simba or Scar handing off of pride rock and the big final scene is the Circle of Life reprise.
>>2874783>disney rehashing ridesNo surprise there. Their lazy attitude is so apparent when it comes to their US parks. >inb4 Disney autist says villainsland is uniqueThey’re fitting ANOTHER magic carpet/dumbo ride in that area. That makes FIVE of the same ride in the park!!
>>2874779SeaWorld recently included a giga/hyper (I forget which is bigger, fuck you) coaster option in the pass holder survey as to what to build next

>>2874819> Did I miss anything?Yes, you fucking missed something, faggot. 50+ Major Theme Parks in the United States, and dozens more in Europe. You report on two, and claim you’re reporting on all. You’re gaslighting
>>2874748With Vekoma doing the retrack and new trains I wonder if it will still pass kidney stones for people?
>>2874771It’s a real problem. They make them stand in the lines too and I had one slam into my ankles on an incline in a queue. Then at the ride the person walked out like they had no problem walking. Law and policies state you cannot assume that people using them don’t need them but I think that’s absolutely bullshit. All those fat people are just fucking lazy fat pieces of shit who shouldn’t even be at a theme park. They should be glued to a treadmill 24/7 while holding weights and have IVs of ozempic and goyslop attached to them
>>2874819>be you>”wow guys here’s my totally comprehensive theme park update”>scroll>it’s literally just another The Walt Disney Company / Universal Destinations & Experiences copypaste listoh cool thanks man I was really worried I might go 5 minutes without hearing about what color they’re repainting a fence in Orlando>did I miss anything???Yeah, like half the fucking planet. imagine typing all of this out and still acting like theme parks are just corporate IP farms where every ride is either Marvel, Star Wars, or “remember that movie from 2003?”There are parks out there actually building insane coasters and rides that don’t require a lore primer and a Disney+ subscription to understand. Parks where the main attraction isn’t standing in line next to a $12 pretzel and a family of 6 having a meltdown. But nah, (((you))) are locked in the content loop>new retheme>new retheme>ride closed>ride reopened but now with different hatRiveting stuff. Like, bro at this point you’re not even reporting news, you’re just reading a corporate changelog out loud. Meanwhile entire parks exist where:>rides open on time>don’t get “temporarily” closed for 3 years>don’t come back as the same ride but now sponsored by whatever IP tested well with focus groupsbut those don’t count I guess because Mickey Mouse didn’t personally sign your autograph book. Keep posting your “updates” though. I’m sure next month we’ll get breaking news that a trash can got rethemed to Guardians of the Galaxy and you’ll write 3 paragraphs about the immersive storytelling experience. Faggot
Is there a reason why everyone in this thread seems to fall for bait
>>2874821Only the multi billion dollar theme parks matter to these people. Even though most of the attractions are boring wastes of money. I recently did Epcot and only liked Guardians. It was fun but it doesn’t even use its IP properly. No animatronics. The rest of the park’s few rides (5? 7?) were all boring. Waited over an hour for the rat ride and it was a stupid boring simulator. Almost fell asleep on the soarin flying theater. The greenhouse boat ride was interesting but not exactly a AAA attraction. The spaceship earth ride was pure torture and a waste of a half hour of my life. The park is garbage. And basically all these parks are like this. Most of the good rides at universal are the kind you find at other parks like the coasters and drop tower and rapids. These billion dollar parks have too many boring dark rides. I like a good dark ride like the haunted mansion with all the little details everywhere but they don’t make rides like that anymore. Did Carowinds on the way home and last year we did Dollywood. Carowinds I got in free with my SF pass. Both were better than anything in Orlando
>>2874821Problem?
>>2874824>You’re just reading a corporate changelog out loudThat's the point, retard.Believe it or not, I'm not a 'Disney Adult', in any real sense, never even had their streaming subscription. I don't go to the parks unless I get free tickets, which as you might imagine, is quite rare. This is merely a thing I do to document the fall of these once great cultural centers, and to help those who want to dance on it's rotting corpse figure out times to visit when the experience is at least passable.Well, and to keep an eye on Tokyo, as this is an anime website, and wouldn't want to go when Space Mountain is closed. Never been over there, but might at some point.I maintain a changelog here once a month because it's easy. You should try it.
>>2874823Get a grip and stop blaming all people of size for your extremely limited anecdotal bad experiences.
>>2874824>totally comprehensiveI only ever claim to cover Disney/Universal, retard
Has anyone been to sixflag mexico ? I'm visiting mexico city for 6 days, wondering if it's worth to see
>>2874833Oooh poor baby. Is somebody moody bc they got rascal tipped and their tip assist didn’t work today?
>>2874838I literally had to Google that because I had no idea what you were talking about. No, I've never experienced Southpark-tier levels of sociopathy and idiocy in Disney or Universal because those most likely to act that way are fortunately priced out.
If a park has issues with taking cash payment I immediately think it’s a shit park
>>2874836Never been but going off rcdb the coasters are mostly a bunch of vekoma clones like junior coasters, an SLC and a boomerang. However, they do have an RMC coaster which is probably worth going for alone. It’s a (former) Premier special, a little park they bought and made into a SF park. It gets a lot of attendance though so will probably be crowded.
>>2874841It's 2026. Most across the world have transitioned to card, or especially mobile pay. I don't like it either, but it's not a strong litmus test as to the quality of the park.
>>2874821>>2874824Absolutely basedDisneytards are literally excited about a mine train reopening
>>2874844>Disneytards are literally excited about a mine train reopeningIt's actually a tragedy. You used to be able to ride BTM and the ride was so rough you could easily pass a kidney stone. But with the retrack it's going to be smooth and that won't happen anymore.
>>2874844They were also excited for buzz lightyear laser tag
>>2874850Hating harmless fun things isn't a personality.
>>2874850Isn’t buzz light year a black lesbian now? >still excited about it Grim
>>2874844To be fair the BTM coasters are the best mine ride coasters. Thunderation is arguably the best non-Disney mine ride but its current state is almost like being in a car accident. Plus it’s being retired
>>2874856Buzz lightyear is fun?
The new Phantom Theater debuts next week when Kings Island opens for the season. Nobody here probably cares though because it’s not an Orlando park that charges $180+ for a days admission and it isn’t tied to some lame IP franchise or designed by some old gay hippy with a giant earring weighing down his ear
Britbros does anyone else think Towers isn’t worth a visit anymore? Stale coasters, less rides, mostly over 60min waits, only other thing to do in the park is waste a fortune on prison tier food or scam games, closing at 6pm! (Feel sorry for the hotel guests)
>>2874885It's run down as fuck. The Toxicator is running with the water shut off and ugly banners over the water tanks. The operating hours are a joke. Wickerman is still great but it's 8 years old now. They should have had Project Horizon open but it was greater-crested-newted and then they didn't seem bothered to get the project moving again. It seemed for a while they were doing good things at the park with a bigger focus on theming and less chasing of arbitrary world/European firsts but they've done nothing other than Ceebeebies. Next year is probably going to be a rushed David Walliams retheme.
>>2874872Mildly, yes, if you haven't had your dopamine receptors blown out by porn and gigacoasters.

Is there anything that beats Velocicoaster? You could stick it in a field in Yorkshire and it’d still be number 1 imhotbh
>>2874965Iron Gwazi and it’s not even close
Curious what the thread opinion is of the Gold Coast (Australia) parks are since I grew up nearby and would alternate getting a yearly pass each year since they both had shit I likedTo clarify I mean>Dreamworld>Whitewater world>WB's Movie world>Wet'N'Wild>SeaworldThe waterparks were mostly IPslop free and the more extreme rides at Dreamworld were never IPshit, I don't know if that's changed since like 10 years ago now though.
>>2875025Im going on a trip this summer and have the option at the end to spend a week in Australia or Japan. Which would you recommend? I’m leaning towards Australia bc I’m a Floridaman and I think it would be cool to see upside down Florida
>>2874873Kek this>Disneyfags and Universalfags cry there is no Ip-less dark rides or themed attractions anymore only IPslop>Regional parks like Dollywood and Kings Island are providing them as they are the new places that are doing original attractions >/tpg/ : *crickets*
>>2874965>>2874984Iron Gwazi is better but Steel Vengeance is better than IG. IG is paced well and throws a lot of elements at you and ends with a lot of speed still left. SV keeps going into its structure with airtime hills and barrel rolls. They’re both the best IMO, #1 and #2. I haven’t ridden Wildcat’s Revenge or ArieForce One but I have a feeling those two are also better than VC. VC is still a top 5-10 coaster worldwide. I personally think Fury 325 is better though. Also, front row on Top Thrill 2. That’s 4-6 coasters I think are better than VC. Also, if VC was plopped down on a field unthemed I think it would definitely lose a spot or two or more
