Replying to the other thread about the hippogriff coaster. It’s a clone, there are 28 others with the same layout including Dragon at Legoland about an hour away (which is better because they extended the layout to to start with a quick dark ride) and the Woodstock Express at Cedar Point. It’s a good layout for a baby coaster but nothing unique or special. Just a longer version of Barnstormer

Visiting the USA in summer this year and I'm thinking of getting a six flags pass.
Can someone confirm if I'm understanding the perks, or if any of these points are incorrect?

- Order prestige pass for Six flags over texas.
- Visit six flags over texas to pick up and do first usage of pass. I Can use my "free friend tickets" on this first visit, right?
- I have all fancy perks/VIP/Parking at this park and friends do too while with me?
- Later in trip visit Cedar Point. I can also visit here as many days as i want, right?
- I can also park for free here, but don't have pass perks/VIP stuff here, right?

Also. I'm thinking of spending 2.5 days at Cedar, one waterpark day included.
Will I be able to do at least the top best rides in that time? Mid July

It is costly but will be far cheaper to simply reclaim land than trying to acquiring existing land, and it was the same back 40 years ago. The site is strategic so they will not have the land issues that Disneyland has if they want it while still being in a dense urban environment

Orlando desperately needs a hyper/giga. Mako looks like a hyper’s younger brother, very disappointing. Is there an unwritten rule you can’t go over 200ft? how do funspot/icon park get around it?

Third park at Tokyo Disney is a no-brainer. The place is already pretty close to capacity year around (although they actually lowered capacity because they felt the parks were too busy which is one of the many reasons the OLC are great)

The zootopia land at Shanghai is pretty great but a clone would be so lazy. Either way, Disney really need to sort out their pipeline for building new shit, whatever they were building should have already been past the groundwork stage by now.

On a related note, here's the boats for the Lion King ride at Paris, a bit funny they didn't go with an African tree style. It's a modern splash mountain but at least it's not a direct clone. Biggest Show building at the resort (PoTC is probably the current biggest). Going to be a book report ride, hopefully this time they'll be sensible and the big drop is Simba or Scar handing off of pride rock and the big final scene is the Circle of Life reprise.

It’s a real problem. They make them stand in the lines too and I had one slam into my ankles on an incline in a queue. Then at the ride the person walked out like they had no problem walking. Law and policies state you cannot assume that people using them don’t need them but I think that’s absolutely bullshit. Only the multi billion dollar theme parks matter to these people. Even though most of the attractions are boring wastes of money. I recently did Epcot and only liked Guardians. It was fun but it doesn’t even use its IP properly. No animatronics. The rest of the park’s few rides (5? 7?) were all boring. Waited over an hour for the rat ride and it was a stupid boring simulator. Almost fell asleep on the soarin flying theater. The greenhouse boat ride was interesting but not exactly a AAA attraction. The spaceship earth ride was pure torture and a waste of a half hour of my life. The park is garbage. And basically all these parks are like this. Most of the good rides at universal are the kind you find at other parks like the coasters and drop tower and rapids. These billion dollar parks have too many boring dark rides. I like a good dark ride like the haunted mansion with all the little details everywhere but they don’t make rides like that anymore. Did Carowinds on the way home and last year we did Dollywood. Carowinds I got in free with my SF pass. Both were better than anything in Orlando

Believe it or not, I'm not a 'Disney Adult', in any real sense, never even had their streaming subscription. I don't go to the parks unless I get free tickets, which as you might imagine, is quite rare.
This is merely a thing I do to document the fall of these once great cultural centers, and to help those who want to dance on it's rotting corpse figure out times to visit when the experience is at least passable.
Well, and to keep an eye on Tokyo, as this is an anime website, and wouldn't want to go when Space Mountain is closed. Never been over there, but might at some point.
I maintain a changelog here once a month because it's easy.

Never been but going off rcdb the coasters are mostly a bunch of vekoma clones like junior coasters, an SLC and a boomerang. However, they do have an RMC coaster which is probably worth going for alone. It’s a (former) Premier special, a little park they bought and made into a SF park. It gets a lot of attendance though so will probably be crowded.

The new Phantom Theater debuts next week when Kings Island opens for the season. Nobody here probably cares though because it’s not an Orlando park that charges $180+ for a days admission and it isn’t tied to some lame IP franchise or designed by some old gay hippy with a giant earring weighing down his ear

It's run down as fuck. The Toxicator is running with the water shut off and ugly banners over the water tanks. The operating hours are a joke. Wickerman is still great but it's 8 years old now. They should have had Project Horizon open but it was greater-crested-newted and then they didn't seem bothered to get the project moving again.

It seemed for a while they were doing good things at the park with a bigger focus on theming and less chasing of arbitrary world/European firsts but they've done nothing other than Ceebeebies. Next year is probably going to be a rushed David Walliams retheme.

Curious what the thread opinion is of the Gold Coast (Australia) parks are since I grew up nearby and would alternate getting a yearly pass each year since they both had shit I liked

Iron Gwazi is better but Steel Vengeance is better than IG. IG is paced well and throws a lot of elements at you and ends with a lot of speed still left. SV keeps going into its structure with airtime hills and barrel rolls. They’re both the best IMO, #1 and #2. I haven’t ridden Wildcat’s Revenge or ArieForce One but I have a feeling those two are also better than VC. VC is still a top 5-10 coaster worldwide. I personally think Fury 325 is better though. Also, front row on Top Thrill 2. That’s 4-6 coasters I think are better than VC. Also, if VC was plopped down on a field unthemed I think it would definitely lose a spot or two or more
