I’m in a town called Porcupine. The motel has apparently been here for longer than I have been alive…check out the vintage decor
How much did that room cost? 80 bucks?I sometimes want to come back to America and just wander around but when I look at prices I'm just like no fuck that I'll stay out.
>>2875429Yeah, you could buy a shitty old Econoline gas guzzler van and toss a $10 airbed in the back for the price of three weeks in an American motel. The motel locations are always so awful as well. I'd still like to bicycle tour the Michigan mitten. It's so flat and peaceful and forested. The lake beaches are just as good as any ocean. People might be fat and ornery with each other, but with a visiting vagabond they are 100% mellow, live and let live. There are very few vagabonds, homeless negros, druggies and other unsavory characters floating around in the northern part of the mitten. Temps are mild outside of heatwaves. Summer rainstorms are usually shortlived. Weed is legal. But yeah, travel America requires a lot more effort than traveling in some Asian country, where you only need your passport and some cash. In America you have to be self-sufficient and carry your own supplies.
>>2875322Powhatan Motel in Pochahantas, IllinoisEasily the nicest motel i'd ever stayed at. $90 and we got free hot freshly cooked breakfast off a menu! Check it out if youre in illinois
>>2875438>spending a bunch of money on a car so that you can...>spend huge sums in gas for the privilege of...>spending even more money at a motel in bumfuck nowhere>and you're still in Illinois, one of the dullest states in AmericaThis is American travel in a nutshell. So much expenditure for the "privilege" of sleeping in a bed next to the interstate on the outskirts of one of the shittest towns in America (East St Louis).
>>2875441I'm sorry people are discussing an aspect of travel that doesnt involve asian transsexuals
