I'm an American and I work for a small American company. My job is totally remote. I can work from anywhere for the most part, so I'm thinking about working remotely in Europe. However, I can only go to Europe for one to two months at a time, so it doesn't make sense for me to go through a whole visa process. Technically, you're supposed to either not work while you're visiting as a tourist or your supposed to get whatever visa is required to work remotely in that particular country, a nomad visa. But like I said, I don't want to do that. Has anyone tried working remote in Europe (especially Switzerland) for an extended length of time? Did you have any problems with the authorities? Am I over thinking this?
>fly into europe>reason for visiting?>tourism, <list some BS off on a loose itinerary I have>>do you have a flight booked for onward travel?>yes here it is>where are you staying >ome airbnb or <hotel>>stamp>walk on>Did you have any problems with the authorities? Yes because unlike some reddit or 4chan users I don't show up going HEY THERE CBP I PLAN TO WORK HERE YA KNOW WINK WINK I AM ONE OF THOSE EYE TEE GUYS THAT WORKS REMOTELY LOL! SUCKS FOR YOU BRING IN THAT CUBE HAHA! ANYWAYS 1 VISA STAMP FOR ME PLEASE CHOP CHOP I HAVE TO BE ONLINE IN 4 HOURS AND DIDN'T GET MY NAP ON THE PLANE! Don't tell them and they won't have reason to suspect shitNo one cares, CBP isn't there to check if your laptop is work or not or your phone is actually used for work or not. Simply don't tell people you're doing it and no one will care, laws have changed but specifically in europe some are okay with it so long as you aren't actively competing against local businesses. Otherwise WWOOF and shit would have been shut down long ago.If you want to play it ultra safe, slap some gay laptop stickers on your device, clear the browser history, and set the wallpaper to some anime girl with fat tits. IF, which they won't, open your laptop they will just see some dumbshit and pass you on.t. been working abroad for years
