I'm backpacking through SE Asia and my dad wants to join me in Vietnam. He'll have 7 FULL days (and probably half days when he arrives and leaves)For that amount of time I am thinking Hanoi + Sapa. Maybe :-dad arrives probably in afternoon or evening of day 0 in hanoi-2 full days in Hanoi2 days in Ninh Binhovernight bus to Sapa1 day leisurely in Sapa2 day trekking through ethnic villages in Sapaovernight bus back to HanoiFly home for dadI am just arriving to Vietnam from Laos the day before him and it's my first time too so hopefully this is a good plan for his short amount of time?
>>2877284Buses are horrible in Vietnam dude. Night bus drivers are absolute fucking maniacs and are either on drugs, drunk, or have a death wish (sometimes all three). They get in accidents all the time. There's a good chance you also get your shit stolen if you are vigilant. Book a private car and don't risk your life to be a "realtraveler"

>>2877364Maybe he's Australian
>>2877364I have to do it every time because my job makes long trips impossible. So even international trips last 6-8 days at most. Gotta do what you gotta do if you want to travel.>>2877284I think the itinerary is good overall. I personally would drop Ninh Binh and include one or both days in Hanoi. Because 7 days is on the shorter side, it'll be nice to cut down on location changes (especially for your dad, who I assume is older). There definitely enough in Hanoi for 3-4 rewarding days.

>>2877364I routinely do 3-4 day trips that involve 12 hour flights.
>>2877284This fucking country is so noisy and chaotic. Vietnamese people are literally 60IQ monkeys. First and last time coming to thise shit hole
