Pros
>prosperous, high income country
>incredibly bike-friendly, you absolutely do not need a car to move around and are basically guaranteed to lose weight as the physical infrastructure of cities encourages you to bike everywhere
>great variety of high-quality cheeses
>you can take boat trips in Amsterdam’s canals :D
>beautiful countryside filled with tulip fields and windmills
>weed is legal and sold at head shops
>prostitution is legal
>famously tolerant

Cons
>everything is expensive
>getting citizenship and a job there is difficult, even with an EU passport
>Dutchmen are incredibly stingy, they won’t give you food if they invite you to their homes and if they do they’ll send you a Tikkie expecting you to pay them back
>Dutchmen put mayo on their fries, gross
>you’re expected to learn their joke servant language, English will only get you so far
>making friends there is difficult, centuries of pillarization have accustomed the Dutch to segregation based on religion and political beliefs
>did I mention everything is expensive there?

I forgot to mention they have some pretty wicked museums where you can see Early Netherlandish paintings from Old Masters like Bosch, Rembrandt and Vermeer as well as modern masterpieces from van Gogh and Escher.

Amsterdam is a zoo, probably the worst place you could visit in Europe as a tourist. Just stay for a day or two, see the canals, see the Reiksmuseum, then get out.
>>
Pros: titutes

Cons: tipation

I thought people weren't allowed to film there? I went there years ago and witnessed a hooker cuss out a man taking her photo & a guy smashing another guys camera.

I liked Delft, Harlem and Utrecht more than Amsterdam. Amsterdam is fine for 2-3 days. Any more than that is overkill. The Netherlands are great if you're into biking. It's flat as shit and there are bike trails connecting everything. It rains about half the time. The food isn't as great as a lot of places in Europe. As soon as we crossed into Belgium, the food improved massively. The weekends in Amsterdam were inanely overcrowded. A million people overrun the city on Friday nights. You have to reserve tickets and bikes online ahead of time because everything sells out. The cities are very clean and nice though.

I've heard the exact opposite, that >90% of Dutch speak English fluently and have a very low regard for their native language as a sort of cultural cringe. You're posting with an iPhone camera filename though so I reckon you're speaking from experience of having been?

You're right, filming is not allowed there, and that hasn't changed to this day. The only way you can film without getting caught is by using a small hidden camera.

They've gotten extra vigilant with cameras, too. They don't just yell at drunk tourists who are filming deliberately. I've even seen them yell at girls trying to take a selfie by the canal.
