I've been to the churches in Rio de Janeiro since I was a kid, so I'm not sure if they count, so I'll start with the first time I went to a different state.

I First visited Aparecida in 2015 out of curiosity, it was always a big thing with old people but I never really cared that much about it, it's like, always been there, I guess? I went by bus, it took a couple hours, dropped at the local bus station and walked to the basilica, there's a market on the way with lots of interesting stuff, a man was selling corn, I went back several times again and always stopped there for corn.

At the time the streets were dirtier, they cleaned everything up during covid. I followed it all the way to the basilica, and I don't really know if I was expecting anything, I mean, I found it cool looking, the old church is baroque wich is way better, but still, I enjoyed seeing nuns and monks everywhere, there was big room downstairs where the priests would hear confession, but they did it kinda like an office thing with a desk, I thought it was weird but I guess it's to avoid accusations.

I kept going back there from 2015 to 2019 by myself cause I thought the place was cool and I prefer traveling solo, but after covid I started joining my parish group trips too, so I've been there maybe twice by myself since then.

Regarding relics, I've seen several, I currently take care of 3 that my parish got because I'm autistic and talked the priest into it. St. Frei Galvão. St. Dulce and Bl. Isabel Cristina. They're like little dots from their bones/ashes, pretty cool stuff, we mostly venerate it at Men's Rosary and I show kids at catechesis. I think I'm a weird guy but people like me.

Anyway, for non Catholic stuff I've been to India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Armenia and Georgia too. I went purely to see religious stuff out of genuine curiosity, I thought it sounded interesting and wanted to see what they were like. Idk if that's the kind of answer you were expecting.
