What kind of religious sites have you gone to around the world and which were your favorite? Which are overrated?
>>2881376I only did one, the 88 temples of Shikoku. It's about 1000 miles of walking through mostly the Japanese suburbs and countryside. It's one of the cheapest ways to travel in Japan because you can sleep in the temples for free sometimes. Usually I walked all night and slept at onsen during the day. It was an experience I'll remember for the rest of my life. Not normally my thing, but I could see myself doing it again someday. Most of the other pilgrims I met there already did it multiple times, because it's fun.
>>2881376Among Catholic cathedrals In Europe, the best I've seen so far is St. Stephen's in Budapest. Also shoutout to the cave church in same city. The most underrated I've seen is St. Hedwig's in Berlin. Not really a pilgrimage site or even that famous as a tourist attraction, but it's pretty unique as far as Catholic cathedrals go.
I'm gay. Religion exists to drive me to suicide, and make me feel less welcome in society. I want nothing to do with those people or their institutions.
>>2881391you have worms
>>2881391there's a lot of different religions on planet earth idiot they don't all say that
>>2881387do Japanese people think that westerners being interested in Buddhism is cringe or is that just my own self-conscious perspective
>>2881395name a major religion that allows gays to marry within it and always has
>>2881396westerners think it's cringe but all religions love it when outsiders adapt their religion. it validates it.
>>2881399the modern concept of marriage as it exists in the western world today didn't exist in the same form in every society through history retardthere were plenty of religions that never gave a fuck about homosexuality. I doubt if many religious traditions even care if you like man ass and the fact that you view the entire world through this dichotomy of those who approve of you wanting to touch man ass and those who don't is a pretty insane and twisted binary to tell the truth
>>2881399Marriage exists to secure the wellbeing of the spouses' offspring, not for the comfort of the spouses themselves. Since homosexuals cannot naturally conceive children, they don't need marriage either.
