Most areas of BA are clean/safe and resemble something like Madrid

I honestly forget. Buenos Aires was not bad, developed Western economy prices. McDonald's was insane -> like $15 USD for a burger meal and combo.
The food in Patagonia was more expensive. In general Argentinian prices are Western prices or more expensive than Western

I got a fantastic deal on my Buenos Aires Airbnb, because of an automatic discount for a longer stay (2 weeks). I wouldn't say it's cheap but if you book an Airbnb for an extended period of time it's not bad at all. Patagonia lodging is crazy, like the food, unless you go off-season.
