Tubular steel coaster tracks cracking from wear isn’t speculation, it’s a natural part running a coaster, the same way tires becoming unaligned is a part of driving a car. Fixing it is time consuming, so worth it for high demand rides, but I guess not for Kumba.

They notice it’s less comfortable to ride than other similar rides like Kraken. They’re voting on this with their feet. Note the empty Kumba station despite only one train running.
>They'll have to rebuild the station, add the platens, tear out the old control system and put a new one in, plus buy the new trains to do a floorless conversion. Easily a couple to a few million dollars, but still cheaper than a new coaster.
But still maybe not worth it. Kraken is a walk-on about 70% of the time and it’s floorless, and that’s despite SWO’s shitty ops. It’s just not a draw.
