I’ve been in Hua Hin for the last week. It’s not as exciting a city as bangkok but I like that it’s chilled out and doesn’t have a big party scene. Most of the falangs one sees here seem to be longer term residents of thailand and not casual tourists. Driving down to Chumphon today and will spend a few nights there at a hotel on the beach.Picrel is a winery in Hua Hin

hey chuds! i just recently did a 2 day layover in BKK. I first had a 7 hour layover in BKK, so I decided to go wonder about the asok / Sukhumvit area. i really missed the humidity, smell, noise and dodgy characters on every corner, so I decided i'd do a night or two on the way back. I stayed at the jw marriot, who let me check in at 10am. god, i love not being poor. had a sleep, woke up late afternoon and was craving a khao soi (picrel). went back to my hotel room, had a shit and just bar hopped around Nana, Soi Cowboy and soi11 area. I didn't do any coming this time. I wasn't in the mood, and I would have had to bring back a real high-class bitch to the JW and I don't know where to find them, not some flabby bellied slam pig from Isan with a c-section mark. i didnt do much else. i asked gemini where i can get some good phik khing crispy pork, also had a few cocnut waters and mango sticky rice. oh i also went into a weed shop. i would have bought some if i could smoke in my room, but i couldnt. instead i bought some sick grinder and pipe that I brought back with me. they were pretty cheap, and next time I go I will probably bring back one of those crazy looking bongs.
>>2890500>paypig buys expensive room to flex on nobody>if he had a shittier room he would be able to smoke and fuckcool story of you cucking yourself for no reason
>>2890500I flew BKK to IST and back. This was my first time flying business class on thai airways. the new business class fit out on their a350s are 10/10. great layout and comfy seat/bed. and the food was great too! the older business class fit out on their a350s is pretty shit. seat is tight, uneven elbow space, the bed has bumps in weird places. the amenity kit and pyjamas they give you are pretty cool, some collab with mega coomer jim thompson (silk guy). so if you ever fly thai business class, make sure its the new fitout on the a350.
>>2890502whoa buddy...you got me good! I should have paid for a shitter hotel room instead so i could smoke and bring back an ugly bitch. i got a really good deal for the JW with these discounts i get, I paid like $250 AUD for the night, for a room that wasn't the shittest room available. and they let me check in at 10am, not the "come back at 3pm, you poor fat fuck" response you're used to getting.

>>2890509whats your problem cunt?>>2890486why is it posting the photos sideways? they don't show sideways on my laptop.
>>2890500>JW MarriotWhy not Sheraton? It's way better. Better location, better service, better restaurants.
>>2890537i dont remember ever staying at a JW before, so i wanted to try it out. it was OK, but yeah next time I'll probably check out another hotel
>>2890466Took me 3.5 hours to get to chumphon from Hua Hin. Very enjoyable drive including the last 90 minutes or so on a recently resurfaced scenic route with lots of fun turns and zero traffic. Found a cafe with a pair of water buffalo on the beach

>>2890443Hi trv My 10 year anniversary is coming up and I'm trying to sell my wifi on the virtues of life in Asia so she'll go along with a transfer to Singapore before NYC kills us. I was thinking Phuket had plenty of decent 5 start properties still within a few minutes drive of girly bar debauchery but every yootub vid makes it seem fully infested with chubby britbongs and sandals resorts enjoyers. Is Phuket lost to mass market crap and will I be paying $8 for a beer? Or is it still worth checking out? I'd go to Vietnam or Malaysia instead but my wife is pretty down so I don't want to be totally cut off from the option of heading to a girlie bar. I just don't want to be on a beach packed with uppity Russians or whatever. Any other more secluded but still proximal places that should be on our radar for quiet beach with access to a walking street?
>>2890567I went from NYC to Delhi and really loved it. There were barely any foreigners there, especially in the hood. It's really gritty and grimey though, probably not what you're looking for at all but if you can stomach it it's amazing. After that I went to China for 3 months. The price to performance is best in the world afaik and it's really safe. Only thing that sucks is it's hard to have deep conversations with the locals there. The system is less obtrusive than you think but it's always looming. A good country if you want a posh life with few other foreigners, an adventure but easy enough to convince your wife. They have a beach island in the south that's worth checking out (not Taiwan)Malaysia sucks for single people. You will be paying upwards of $8 for a beer and the only bars they have are just the same beer belly boomers you see in Thailand. Prostitution is easily accessible if you're into that, I'm not, but prostitutes have offered themselves to me for less than the cost of two beers at the bar. Weather is tropical, it's really safe and developed. Some people choose it if they want a developed city but disagree on China ideologically.Next step for me is Kaohsiung in Taiwan. A beach city in the southern part of the island. I'm drawn to it for the cheap price but foreigners say it's good.Jeju and Okinawa are good options too. Easy sell to the wife, less good for cooming with ladyboy bar hoes tho
>>2890570Thanks anon, I'm not moving yet and I'm a corpo rat so Singapore or HK are the options for Asia. China is mostly unexplored territory for me, but I've done some Google Earth exploration and was always shocked how with all that coastline it looks like there is 0 towns or cities set up with any leisure time activity along it. Zero marinas, beach resorts, etc. We're long distance sailors and had fucked with the idea of trying to explore China but it would be hard to find a marina that isn't just a straight up fishing port. Tbh I've never paid for sex directly other than buying drinks which I do anyway. But I figure a couple might be a tall order. I imagine half the girls who went for me did so because they thought they might land a rich (looking) American so I might have to pay to get my first double BJ with my wife involved. But I'm not super committed to the bit, would just be a nice option. Thanks for the feedback, I will check out Taiwan. I can into Japanese so maybe that could work.
>>2890575>Singapore or HK are the options for Asia. From what I heard Singapore is better if you have a family and HK is better if you're single. Some people say Shanghai is good but China has 996 culture that fucks a lot of people in the head. They don't understand "freedom" or "leisure" at all. Supposedly they have a beach resort in Sanya but it's probably crowded by people doing bug things like filming tiktoks and wechat stories
>>2890567Phuket is alright, but it depends on the area. Bangtao has nice hotels and a decent downtown, but lots of traffic (balanced by being near the airport). Rawai can be charming but is a little less fancy than bangtao and is a long drive from the airport. Patong has the best/raunchiest girly bars but is also a cesspit and sounds like exactly what you don’t want.
>>2890584I'd not mind paying slightly more for an upmarket version of a cesspit with just a hint of cess. Where do actual rich people do their sex tourism? Exclusively on private islands arranged by wealthy pedojews?
>>2890591>Where do actual rich people do their sex tourism? Exclusively on private islands arranged by wealthy pedojews?I would think on instagram.
i have a foot fetish.where’s a good spot in bkk to spot pale bare soles of qt chinese and korean girl tourists? the beach? last time i was there i visited a temple and qt tourist asian girls would enter the temple barefoot and get on their knees and pray, was inadvertently a good place to spot some qt asian soles
>>2890592You can definitely tell the beta orbiters who get ordered around with the camera from the guys who are on even terms. I think the rich girls often pay gigolo boyfriends with camera skills to take their photos, because they all talk to the guy like he's a servant, and he usually looks very stressed and also eager to obey ASAP. Sometimes he will tell her to move for a better shot, but it is a timid request, not an order.
>phone screen goes very dark while walking>I think it's dead, repeatedly press power button>phone vibrates three times>I walk into the shade, and the screen says an emergency call to 112 has been underway for 00:11>hang up immediately$35 per day has remained my unchanged baseline spending for both Chonburi and Rayong provinces. It's unlikely to change in the coming days, as Chanthaburi and Trat are also wealthy coastal provinces. It's always best to leave through Bangkok when you are going somewhere different in Thailand. So to get to Ubon Ratchathani from Trat, go back to Bangkok and then start the train journey.
>>2890605>$35 per day has remained my unchanged baseline spending for both Chonburi and Rayong provinces.>cooking cuts all food expenses in 3>long term stay cuts all accommodation fees in 3>staying in one place cuts out travel fees>average Thai person lives on $7 a dayIf you got it down to $12 a day your travel would be 3x as long, if you got it down to $7 you can basically disappear from Shlomo's slave pit for years at a time instead of just a couple of months. Is gallivanting to random places worth your freedom?
>>2890505You can stay at Tinidee Trendy for $50 a night. Check in at 10am. Smoke weed in your room and bring girls back.
>>2890641but then you're on khaosan road. I've spent years in Thailand and have never once stepped foot on khaosan road, don't think I'm missing anything either
>>2890639disappear from Shlomo's slavepit and live in Somchai's slavepit instead? I don't buy the whole povertymaxxing thing. Whatever lifestyle $7 a day buys you is probably going to be a pretty hellish existence.
>>2890639>$7 per day spending powerCome on now, the legal minimum wage in Thailand is now greater than $10 per day. You've gotta do better than a McWagie if you're coming here as a tourist. Long-term stay would decrease price by approximately one third, i.e. $300 per month including utilities for the kind of place I pay $15 per day for. Yes, I've seen the ads and talked to landlords who rent monthly.Cooking will drastically slash your food expenses here in the wealthy provinces due to the high markups on restaurant food. But I don't want to cook in Thailand because I can't prepare the European flavors that I want to eat. It's doubtful your rental will have a fully furnished outdoor kitchen where you can throw together some stir-fry on a wok or simmer some chicken soup. >>2890701It's about wasting as much time as possible doing nothing for every dollar spent.
>>2890732>It's doubtful your rental will have a fully furnished outdoor kitchen where you can throw together some stir-fry on a wok or simmer some chicken soup.my place in KL has that and rent is $215 a month. India was $140 a month and small Chinese city was $130Pretty sure Thailand is cheaper than KL But if not Thailand, then wherever you can tolerate. Bulgaria or Latvia or some shit then
>>2890732>It's about wasting as much time as possible doing nothing for every dollar spent.But... why? Seems to be a doomer mindset thing, like life is just about frittering away time until we kick the bucket. I'm not saying that the opposite is true and that living lavishly or beyond one's means is a more meaningful existence, but there's a healthy balance to be struck between comfort and frugality.
>>2890741The pathological pursuit of money for its own sake is a morbid mental disease. A contemplative life of leisure is the highest good. But most men are born to be slaves.
>>2890763Is it really a life of leisure if you're scraping by in a roach-infested leaky hovel and eating barebones street food slop every day?
>>2890591>I'd not mind paying slightly more for an upmarket version of a cesspit with just a hint of cessHave you looked at Samui instead of Phuket? I think it's actually cheaper than Phuket, but a bit calmer and classier and the demographics is more Euro than Russian, Arab and random thirdies >>2890575>ChinaDid you look around Hainan island?
>>2890767no roachesno street food, only cooking
>>2890741Excess comfort rots the mind and makes it weak. Too many great nights of THC-medicated sleep on cool sheets under the quiet humming of the A/C, and you stop wanting to engage with the world. Nothing feels enjoyable anymore except the bliss of losing consciousness. >>2890734Good for you. They sure wouldn't give me those prices, there would be a fucking deposit (that you never get back) or overcharged utilities or some other scam involved.
What is the ideal duration for a Pattaya trip?I was thinking 7 days
>>2890785>They sure wouldn't give me those prices, there would be a fucking deposit (that you never get back) or overcharged utilities or some other scam involved. If you cant read the local language you're at a big disadvantage. Got this place because I can speak chinese. All of the other foreigners I know here are paying $450-700+ because they use foreigner platforms. Their places are a little bit better than mine, but not by that muchThe deposit thing happens in the US more than asia
