I’m a 25 year old dude who’s an officer in the American military. Lately life has been kinda miserable and I have an opportunity to potentially shake things up. I have the opportunity to deploy to Japan for the next three years. I gotta make up my mind within the next three weeks though. Can’t say where the base is, but it’s in one of the major metropolitan areas. I have been in zero serious romantic relationships in my life and have only had sex one singular time. I speculate that I may have mild undiagnosed autism but that’s neither here nor there. I have a pretty good social life here in the states, I got along great with everyone at my unit male and female, but no romantic connections.If any of you guys aren’t from the US, it’s pretty common for people in the military to get married young, usually by like 23 or so. I’m the only officer in my office who isn’t married or about to be. It’s been getting on my nerves lately. Life has been incredibly lonely. I’m worried I go to Japan, have an awesome time, but then I’ll still be single by the time I turn 28 and basically have nothing to show for the whole thing. And no, I’m not going over there to try and find my Yoko Ono. I don’t think that’d work out anyways with the security clearance. I’ve also seen people be completely burned by their romantic relationships (getting cheated on and being given STIs, costly divorces, spousal abuse, giving birth to severely disabled kids, etc.). I mean, obviously any of that shit would be worse than what I’m going through right now. Long story short: Am I stupid to consider not going to Japan because I’m worried I’ll be romantically lonely over there?

Japan already has too many US rapemonkeys prowling around. It's funny when base goes on lockdown for the 7th time in a month because they couldn't resist raping another 12 year old, then jarheads cry online that it's inhuman that they can't drink at bars and sell weed on the side for 3 days.
