Next year I want to go to Tangier to see the eclipse, which happens August 2nd. I'll have two more weeks of vacation after that, and I started playing with the idea of exploring the country properly. I am concerned about the temperature though, and would like to hear from people who have visited in August if they found it too hot. Looking at temperatures there now, Tangier and other coastal cities are at around 25-30 degrees, while inland cities are significantly warmer. Marrakech has a forecast of a whopping 45 degrees next week, that's 113 Fahrenheit for you yanks. I'm Swedish, so while I yearn for warmer temperatures, I'm obviously not acclimatised to anything much hotter than 30. If I do go, I'd also be interested in climbing Mount Toubkal, Google says I shouldn't even consider it because it's too hot, while also saying it's the peak season with the most climbers... I also read a trip report from a guy that climbed it in August who said that as long as you start early, you walk in the shadow all the way up as the sun is on the other side of the mountain, which helps on the heat. I also want to go down to El Aaiun for the sole purpose of ticking off Western Sahara on my scratch map. Other than that I know surprisingly little about what there is to see and do in this country and would love to hear your tips.So tl;dr: Is Morocco too hot to comfortably travel around in August? And if I do go, what are the must-visit places you'd recommend?

The best part about Morocco is the green landscapes and snowy mountains. August is an unusual month because everything feels dry and dead. Not the best time to go IMHO.I've been to the sahara region during August when locals told me it was "unusually hot", and it honestly wasn't that bad, maybe 90F maximum. Worse, walking around with your phone in your hand just lets the hustlers know that you’re lost and ripe for a scam. The smart thing to do is just find a kid and pay him 20 dirham to take you to your hostel. Kids won’t try to scam you and they know every corner of the city.

>>2906867Its not THAT bad but there's not much to do if you are not interested in shopping. Interior decor in Bahia Palace is gorgeous though and the sites is underappreciated. I understand that Yves Saint-Lawrence is known worldwide but his park isn't no. 1 on the list of cool things in the town to me. I suspect part of it is due to being the one quiet spot in the city. Didnt find many hustlers outside one near the hotel, but flagged hin off anyway. Like any place w hustlers just keep moving and they can't bug you.

I'm thinking about a trip 14 day in February or March. Marrakesh (5 days of which1-2 days in the Atlas mountains), Rabat (3 days), Fez (4 days), and then Tangier (2 days). Flightwise it makes sense and I feel like I'll get a decent view of the country since I'm just using those cities as bases and taking day trips and stuff. Think I'll see a decent swathe of the country that way. What do you guys think?
my experience in casablanca and tangier were bad. I was expecting turkey light but it was nothing like it. Everything smells like piss, the food is meh and the people are not welcoming.
