>>220664272Nothing. It's unsalvagable. Some sort of resolution to that Alastair-Jules-Rue triangle would be nice if it wasn't so vaccuous and discordant. In the meantime we know what it's going to be, it's going to be cassie getting humiliated, Nate getting fucked over, Rue getting through her situation by the skin of her teeth with some sort of farcical ending to the gang war thing. And the emotional payoff for the whole thing will be "we'll at least it's over!"

She's had basically no material, obviously she's had no input on her own character arc which is what she needs to shine, and even as far as she's surrounded by the kind of talent that usually brings the best out of her, none of them seem really interested in doing it. I can see why everyone is mourning Eric Dane, and I can see why they went to such great lengths to give him SOME kind of role in season 3 before the inevitable. The best scene in the show is Cal and Jules reminiscing at the bar. It was completely unecessary, totally disjointed, and didn't develop any part of any of the disparate plotlines, but you can see that when she's playing against someone who both knows how to work with her and is enthusiastic about doing so she's capable of really compelling storytelling. But she's basically being asked to lead in a show that she's barely in playing a character whose bio is a sentence long.
