I'm convinced biopics of still living people are the pinnacle of Hollywood being up its own ass.
>Lemme tell you the story of (events less than 30 years ago) starring (spoiled brat)
>>
>>220719309
Cause they ain't gay
>>
>>220719309
Isn't The Apprentice technically a biopic too?
>>
>>220719365
>Oliver Stone
Does it portray Snowden in a good light?
>>
>>220719309
because The Goose keeps turning down Obama scripts. you forgot Lincoln
>>
>>220719572
Isn't Snowden a good boi?
>>
>>220719309
Lincoln has a bio pic, so does LBJ. Truman and FDR have been featured in a lot of stuff as well.
>>
>>220719660
Yeah, but Hollywood tends to frame whistleblowers in a negative light, though Oliver Stone is a massive commie and supposedly that means he should be anti-establishment.
>>
Because then you'd have to cover Democratic scandals like blowjobs in the Oval Office
>>
>>220719680
Lincoln was a Republican..are fucking dumb are you?
>>
>>220719680
Lincoln was the first republican president bruh no cap fr fr skibiddy doo or whatever, hope that gets through now
>>
>>220719718

GREAT! Now i'm the dumb one! My point still stands, Lincoln was a Republican and people seem to forget that.

Ancient boomers
>>
>>220719718
>>220719738
I was referencing Lincoln because OP forgot him in the list of republican presidents, but I guess it accidentally turned into bait for two free (you)s
>>
>>220719309
Where is the biopic for megakino man William Howard Taft?
>>
>>220719309
Republicans are the only ones obsessed with Hollywood and celebrity.
Why do you think only Republicans have ever voted actors into high offices like President?
>>
>>220719309
obama had one, Barry, came out ten years ago
>>
>>220719572
yeah, i guess
>>
>>220719309
Because corrupt and evil administrations are more interesting political biopics to make.

Also Primary Colours is basically a thinly veiled Bill Clinton movie
>>
Every POTUS has major points of criticism and Hollywood just avoids making movies of Democrats in office so they don't even have to engage in that.

JFK and FDR movies are about Democrat Presidents. Primary Colors was about Clinton basically.

Do your fucking research.
>>
>>220719572
Yes, but its a really subpar made movie bc Stone is a hack
>>220719309
These all suck, especially W. Everyone, including Bush, Cheney, and Rice are depicted in such a bizarre way that it comes across as an SNL skit. It was way too soon and Hollywood had too much of a hate boner for Bush at the time to even pretend to be impartial
>>
>>220719836
>whole movie of him being trapped in a bath tub
>>
>>220719309
>FDR, LBJ and JFK
Plenty of good flashpoint/moment movies with them, but childhoods mostly privileged/photogenic. Jackie too hot, Eleanor too not.
>Truman
Could be an interesting one, but he's just not a big enough figure to draw people into the theaters
>Clinton/Obama
Still alive and Clinton had an interesting life but probably JUSTed a gold-tinted biopic with the Epstein stuff.
Obama clearly wants one and is positioning himself in Hollywood and Manhattan circles well enough to make sure he gets a good one made.
Carter is sure to have a nice Biopic made of him in a Few Years, between spending his life in Georgia and having an admirable post-presidency life it's the perfect role for basically any silver-blonde celebrity in their older years.
Before FDR, I mean there are plenty of people who lived interesting lives, but barring a revival of James K Polk or Woodrow Wilson in the popular consciousness it's unlikely anyone's gonna fork over money for a period piece
>>
Bruce Willis can do the Biden doc.
>>
would love a proper clinton biopic but it would have to adress him getting a blow job in the white house kek

too early for an obama one
>>
>>220719746
Why did you add "people seem to forget that." When we are talking directly to you and you not knowing that? Weird way to try and save face after being dumb.
>>
>>220719572
Yeah, it's glazes him in a really retarded way and makes it seem like he was some kind of prodigy super programmer instead of a cog with a moral conscious. Citizenfour is so much better it's almost pathetic.
>>
>>220720557
He made a interview with Fidel Castro ffs
>>
It is kinda crazy we've never had a proper JFK movie, only "JFK" which doesn't feature him at all and is just Costner running around trying to solve the assassination
>>
Biden got both Weekend at Bernie's films
>>
>>220722518
and this makes him a commie? Murilards say the darndest things
>>
>>220719597
>>220719309
he also forgot Ike
>>220719309
cause everyone agrees that all democrats are evil pieces of shit and no one wants to see a film about a piece of shit like carter, obongo, el bj, fdr, clinton ect
also clinton and obongo would fucking seethe if you made a W or Nixon like film about them with white water or operation choke point or the IRS targeting scandal or one of their dozens upon dozens of scandals the media claims never happened
>he wore a tan suit
>never mind the fact that it was proven he used the IRS to audit conservative pacs and only conservative pacs before the 2012 election
>all clinton did was get a blowjob
>never mind the fact he pardoned that guy who tried to steal top secret documents by "accidently" putting them in his pants or how like half a dozen guys related to the scandal "committed suicide"
>>
>>220719710
white water
>>
>>220719999
so then why aren't there obongo, brandon, clinton el bj or FDR movies? all of the FDR movies are fucking puff pieces
>>
>>220719309
How was the W. biopic? Ebert gave it 4/4 stars apparently.
>>
>>220722604
Cause JFK the guy was constantly cheating on his wife and high on meth and shit for his back injury he won a silver star for in WWII. His back was permanently fucked due getting injured when the boat sunk and then he dragged another sailor for miles swimming until they got rescued. the boomers don't want to make a film about a crippled adulterer who was constantly high to deal with his immense back pain, they want JFK the legend. he also wasn't particularly good at his job. There are audio recordings of him talking to Ike or other people during the cuban missile crisis and he says the russian guy walked all over him
>>
>>220719309
Obama has had like 3 and he's been out of office for less than 10 years.
>>
>>220722775
>saar! the murilards saar!
>>
honestly the only democrat leader in the past 50 years worth a documentary is clinton
>>
>>220719718
if he was a Republican then why did he oppose slavery?
>>
>>220719309
That's a good question. I think it's because all these biopics are hit pieces, whereas with a Democrat president, they're on the horns of a dilemma. They can't do a hit piece because that'd be letting the side down, but they can't plausibly do a hagiography either, both because audiences wouldn't buy it because every single Democrat president has been awful, and also because the revolution always eats its own and has to demonise its prior heroes.
These people should valorise FDR, now more than ever (he heckin' overcame disability) but they mostly ignore him or call him a racist.
It's going to fall to a revamped Daily Wire Films to do the Obama biopic the public wants and needs, God willing
>>
>>220722880
I know I've seen it. I have no lasting memory of anything that happened besides Brolin being a charming dude.

The real answer is because Democrats tend to have quieter, more boring presidencies. Compare the last three Dem and Republican presidents
>Biden
>Obama
>Clinton
all had substantially less flashy (for lack of a better term) policies and goals than
>Trump
>W
>HW (Really just a continuation of Reagan)
Some of this is because Republicans tend to have larger scale, more spectacularly impactful goals than Dems. Obama and Clinton's big achievements are healthcare reform and deficient reduction, Trump and W's were successful(ish) interventions in the Middle East. Along with that, important shit just keeps happening when Republicans are in office. W got handed 9/11, Trump got Covid, Reagan and HW got some of the worst of the Cold War.
And for what it's worth, parties have changed so much in the last century or so that trying to map, say, Lincoln onto the modern party Republican party is completely retarded.

too soon for Obama, Travolta knocked it out the park w/ Clinton already (though not a direct biopic). Carter was boring and no real scandle/plot to focus on

This. As much as I respect some of Stone's works and like Brolin as an actor I had no high hopes for W. and it turned out exactly what I was afraid of. It's basically an expensive and glorified circus act instead of an entertaining or insightful drama with a historical vein. It might worth a watch if you want some cheap entertainment. I'd say the best portrayal of Dubya is still Sam Rockwell's part in Vice but ultimately he'd deserve a proper biography. The source material is definitely there.

All Democrat presidents are perfect and have no scandals since no one in Hollywood or the Leftoid media would report on them

Bill Clinton? Perfect President
Jimmy Carter? Perfect President

The left have to control their narratives and project their on evil agenda on to them because republicans pass bills in honesty, then when the power shifts, dems take those ideas and bastardize/sabotage them, so they can blame the right. It's all bullshit because both sides are puppets for one big cabal of elites who occasionally infight, and they then test their ideas/solutions in small areas to see the results, and then come back together to show results. Like hey, Have the right enact the Patriot Act so we can monitor all terrorist threats, then have the left use it to spy on everyone who tries to take power away from the left. Meanwhile, we'll all just use it to steal ideas, protect only us from our enemies, and to use for investing.

people are going to joke about it but the pageantry of the president really was important in the end. that first point creates the illusion of strength and reliability and thus trust in our institutions, instead of all this cynicalism that makes us constantly question stuff. with obama, we were largely united
