Reminder that all the best parts of Homelander's character came directly from Antony Starr. He made the Homelander talking to himself in the mirror scenes and him visiting the scientists that tortured him as an infant. Because Antony knew that a person like Homelander isn't born a monster, he became one through neglect, no sense of belonging, and deep rooted psychological scarring that those scientists inflicted on him to become thier weapon. He knows is weak and pathetic and his capacity for violence is his only way of showing the world his worth.

Homelander is as much a victim as anyone else in the series. That doesn't mean he shouldn't die, he's a walking WMD but his entire existence was a shitshow. He didn't stand a chance.
