The message is that you shouldn't judge others, it's a retelling of the Scarlet Letter and how people were too harsh on Hester. The rumor starts after the Jesus freak girl, Mary Ann, hears Emma telling her friend she had sex when she in fact didn't. It was Mary Ann who told everybody Emma was a whore and Mary's friends started to call her a skank even in class. Nothing would have happened if the Christian girl had just kept her mouth shut and offered her advise instead of using the chance to preach about celibacy and make an example out of Emma. Emma just happened to be the child of two liberal idiots who let her do as she wanted and she almost ended up raped and the parents were all like "ah, well, we know you'll solve it somehow!"
>>220726862She starts saying that she doesn't truly care what others think of her and she thinks she's owning the people who judged her, but at the end she realized that she did care that everybody was calling her a whore. Thing is, everybody learns the lesson that judging is wrong, but she never admits that she shouldn't have lied in first place. She only apologized to her friend to making up a lie about how she had a date because she didn't want to hang out with her and her weird parents.
