We didn't really need anything after "Star Wars". Empire Strikes Back is technically amazing and has some great scenes, but the story is a bit retarded and since it has no proper ending and pairs with Return of the Jedi, it's fundamentally no better than that film, and that shit's a pile of icky icky goo.
Darth Vader being Luke's father is so fucking stupid it makes my head spin that George thought it was a good idea.

I'm not saying it's amazing writting to make Vader be Luke's father, but you said "good idea" and basically you are poor and none of your ideas are likely to be associated in any way with even a fraction of the success surrounding "No/Luke, I am your father". One big problem with the prequels is that it only leaves 19 years between Episode 3 and 4.
It should really be like 60 years, but you can't do that with Vader being Luke's father.
