I actually don't mind when protagonists are gay/queer, non-binary, POCs/non-whites or black, I also don't mind when characters who were formally not of that race get newly recast as the previously mentioned genders/races. I watch movies on my own terms free from "woke fatigue" and discern my own conclusions free from any political movement for or against its message, I also don't look at any review scores beforehand of afterwards that may dampen or overhype my own expectations afterthoughts.

The only thing that matters is whether the film in question is good and/or kino.
The issue with diversity casting, and all DEI or quota initiatives, is that it uses criteria other than talent or fitness for the character or anything that. The same issue exists with nepotism. I don't mind seeing the son or daughter of a famous established actor in a role, but the whole process often promotes mediocrity.
