How is your 'films of 2026' ranking shaping up so far?
Oops, wrong pic.
>>2207366812022's films are better.
I no longer bother watching films made after 1999.
>>220736681I haven't seen a single 2026 movie so far.
>>220737987Did you watch anything from the 2022 list here?>>220737931
it's actually lining up to be a opretty good year for movies. Project Hail Mary is good, Send Help is an interesting movie, Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die is worth a watch, They Will Kill You is a fun flick. Im excited to watch Backrooms, I Love Boosters, Madden movie(for shane gillies and john mulaney), Iron Lung, new Scary Movie, Supergirl, Her Private Hell(for thatcher, I dont have high hopes for the movie itself), Motor City, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and Resident Evil by Weapons guy
>>220737987same
>>220738035>it's actually lining up to be a opretty good year for movieszoomer moment
This year I have watched:Falling DownOffice HoursNaked Gun 1988PresenceAnatomy of a FallBarton FinkLabyrinth (best movie I saw at the theatre this year)Bugonia Apocalypse Now (best movie I’ve seen this year)The BountyTinker Tailor Soldier SpyAdaptation In BrugesDeath Proof
>>220736681I've only seen Primate and Mortal Kombat 2 so far but I liked both
>>220738858Presence was the weakest of these by the way (obviously) but still worth watching if you’re into that horror crap
Bump
I wanted to make a chart too but I've seen too much damage shit this year, so here's my favoritesHoppersObsessionDollyThrashBuffet InfinityThe Momentand worst:Devil Wears Prada 2FuzeAnimal FarmReminders of Him
If Bone Temple isn't at the top of your list, I refuse to acknowledge it.
>>220736681Was the drama that good? My friend said it was his favorite of the year too
>>220740408Its got a stupid premise, the thing Zendaya "does" is a big nothingburger. Made me realize the director's a normie.
>>220740408It's excellent, it's funny and touching and it doesn't really skip a beat, it's one of those movies that's interesting from start to finish. It's crazy to me that someone can put an aggressively unfunny turd like Send Help and a fresh movie like The Drama on the same list.>>220740421Nothing's stupid about it, go tell your extended family you planned the same thing and report back the reactions. Someone will inevitably overreact and that's the whole point.
>>220740421t. American
>>220740454>go tell your extended family you planned the same thing and report back the reactions.I'll also ask them to marry and fuck me, they should love that
>>220740477No, just test your claim (that the premise is "stupid" and that admitting you planned a school shooting is a nothingburger), you don't have to pretend I said to do something else.If it's a nothingburger surely it's no big deal to test it.
>>220740454Sleeping Dogs Lie is basically the same premise but about something actually bad, and its 20 years old and made by fucking Bobcat Goldthwait.
I've only seen one student short released this year. Might watch The Drama. Looking forward to:>The End of Oak Street>They Follow>Werwulf>The Adventures of Cliff Booth>Flesh of the Gods>Nekrokosm>Rendezvous with Rama>FataleWhenever or if some of them even get a release
>>220740523>the same premise but about something actually badthen it's not the same premise, but maybe I'll check that out anyway
>>220740421The real premise for The Drama would've been 'she fucked niggers', but she IS a nigger, so there isn't really anything this movie could've been about.
>>220738005I have seen everything in that image other than Amelie, Midsommer, and The Lighthouse.
>>220740454Used to be in America that you weren't a criminal until you committed a crime. Times sure changed huh
>>220740527>NekrokosmThis one actually sounds intersting, but I just don't see Panos being able to pull it off.>The Adventures of Cliff BoothThis one will probably be fun to watch.>WerwulfEggers' movies just lack a certain thrill.>Rendezvous with RamaZero chance that Villeneuve pulls this off, especially after the way he raped Dune.In fact, Dune's success will probably embolden him to insert his shitty ideas.
>>220740750That was a long time ago. These days, the Court of Public Opinion is the one that reigns supreme. And the Court of Public Opinion only persecutes the guilty.
>>220740516NTA. It's not a nothingburger, but her reason for not doing it is retarded.
>>220736681I haven't watched a single movie made in 2026. Or 2025. Maybe 2 from 2024.
>>220736681Every time i see a trailer for a new movie it's just full of blacks and browns and i lose interest. And I'm not even racist. That's what's so crazy about it. I can watch pre-2015 movies with diverse casts just fine.
>reddit mary that highThat's gonna be a yikes from me dawg.
>>220740395Bone temple was pretty mid, had some interesting ideas but wasn't super entertaining
>>220736681The Drama was excellent. Not too impressed with anything else I've seen so far. Right now waiting for Scare Out and The Sheep Detectives on VOD.
>>220737949Imagine proclaiming this proudly.
>>220740910>Eggers' movies just lack a certain thrill.True. He's fetishized a certain type of genre movie, and all he does now is try to imitate it on mid-budget.
>>220740527For me:>Archangel>Dune: Part Three>El Tonto Por Cristo>Elden Ring>Hope>Ink>Motor City>Piranesi>Ray Gunn>Rogue Trooper>The Bookie & the Bruiser>The Brigands of Rattleborge>The Death of Robin Hood>The Dog Stars>The Last Photograph>The Odyssey>The Origin of the World>The Resurrection of the Christ: Part One>The Resurrection of the Christ: Part Two>We Are Storror
>>220736681I'm mostly watching films from the 1950s desu.
>>220740408Well, I changed my mind and decided to place Primate above the Drama, the former of which I view as a perfect camp film. Project Hail Mary would be above the Drama if it felt a bit less overlong.I like the meet cute at the beginning of the Drama, and I think it builds to a very hilarious climax near the end where everything goes wrong. The ending itself is good too.My only real issue with the Drama is that it spends too much time with Pattinson spinning his wheels worrying about something that I would never worry about if I was in his position.
>>220743764>films from the 1950s Isn't that literally the same film remade a couple hundred times?
>>220736681Project Hail Mary is easily at Number One in my rankings for films of 2026.
>>220743890No because the women know their place and there are no uppity minorities
>>220743936Sounds very samey.
>>220740382Nice
>>220743890I'm not picking films randomly. So I often end up watching movies with solid quality and different genres, styles.
not greatI might go see Saccharine, Obession, I Love Boosters or Little Lorraine tonight
>>220743964>Sounds very samey.Nothing wrong with that as long as you're not mentally ill
>>220744208>Nothing wrong with boring shitIs that what brainlets tell themselves?
>>220736681Not wanted to see a single one so far, doesn't look like that's changing either.
I only have seen one film from 2026, Greenland 2, and is shit
>>220744364lol its genuinenly refreshing compared to all the woke crap you see today. Yeah I find it funny when John Wayne puts some stupid bitch in her place rather than basedboying and bowing down to some girlboss
>>220744993I'mma take "woke" over asleep.
Movies suck
