I don't see this idea that it's all society, it's very clear that Ani is a fundamentally broken person who fell into being a stripper as a result.Like Sean Baker is clearly fascinated by the lives of strippers and prostitutes, as so many of his films have revolved around them in some form. But I wouldn't call it "endorsement" of the lifestyle. Any more than I would claim The Florida Project is endorsing it with Bria Vinaite's character.
