For me it's simply just impossible to do a perfect impression of characters as unique as Rick and Morty. That's what made the show popular to start with. They each had really unique sounds to them, Roiland was a master. I think they just become too popular for their own good, they get too many cooks in the kitchen who want to get their fingerprints on it, and it collapses under its own weight.
