Just finished reading the book. It's fucking kino. Jurassic Park needs a new adaptation closer to the novel.
>>220756107It will never happen. Enjoy your jurassic world slop
>>220756107It really doesn't. Parts of the book are so jarring they don't even belong in the book, let alone a movie adaptation. There's a reason Steven Spielberg left out the river scene. Even in the book it's insane, tedious and nonsensical. The opening scene is so over the top gory that it sets a totally different tone than the entire rest of the book. I don't know what the hell Crichton was doing when he wrote it. Don't get me wrong, it's still a good book. But it can't really be adapted into a movie without losing the audience.
>>220756597The begining and the end really are unneeded. However, alot of what was cut was for budget. The river scene is totally great, idk why you're hating on it. The mass deaths of workers is a blood bath and would have been an R rating for sure. Id love to see a 6-8 part series. The beginning and end need to be threaded better.
>>220756107only way it could happen is with a one season animated show
>>220756107A good book does not a good movie make, the mediums are vastly different.
>Always wanted a series that covers Jurassic Park before the events of the film/book>Go over the technical aspects of making a giant zoo for resurrected monsters that aren't quite right because of genetic tampering>The more shady side of Hammond's business, cutting corners, covering up worker fatalities>Best I've got is the Muldoon's Log series on YoutubeNot usually one for analogue horror sloppa, but I'm enjoying it quite a bit in spite of the janky animations and dialogue that is clearly written by an ESL.
>>220756727Yes a long, boring convoluted scene with a T. rex with a tongue like an octopus tentacle sure does make fucking sense. Spielberg was right to cut it. I would have cut it. That scene took me completely out of the fucking book.

>>220756107They took the good stuff they didn't use in the first movie and put it in the third.
>>220756107It’s Satanic and dinosaurs were likely demonic forces that fought against God, Jesus Christ, and the angels and were destroyed when a meteor from Heaven was thrown at them. Humans fought alongside the dinosaurs and were destroyed except for those who aligned with Jesus Christ and were saved from the flood that followed. Any movie glorifying dinosaurs is glorifying Satan.

>>220756107Michael Crichton was an advisor on the set of Jurassic Park and I admire that he summarized the entire chapter about dinosaurs having to have been warm blooded by having the dinosaurs fog up the glass when they breath on it. I thought that was brilliant.
>>220756931change of medium doesn't require change of plot and characters, faggotjust change in presentation
We need a Jurassic Park adaptation with REALISTIC depictions of dinosaurs!

The book is better but I don't hate the Spielberg movie. The one exception to that is the film tries really hard to absolve Hammond of any wrongdoing when his wrongdoing is the theme of the work. People hating on the body horror in the book are gay. >why does it spit>why is the intro death so upleasant>why is its tongue funnyBecause that's the point. Your conception of the animals as you look at their bones vs actual honest to god nature in your fucking face and you need to deal with your idiotic arrogant assumptions. Again playing into the main fucking point of the book.
>>220758850>The book is betterIt's a shitty action flick, like the ones Asylum made

>>220756107One part they should have had in the movie is the part where Grant looks at a screen and sees the version numbers of all the dinosaurs. Great moment that conveys a few different things.1.The geneticists at JP are treating the dinos like buggy pieces of software that requires iterative improvements 2. It would explain why the dinos are not "scientifically accurate". Ingen is deliberately manufacturing them to look like what the common man THINKS dinosaurs might have looked like3. The Velociraptors have the highest version number, foreshadowing how much of a problem they are.

>>220766668It brought pirates back then gradually took them away again. When the first one was made it was considered a huge risk
>>220766668Exactly my thoughts after reading it. Black Sails kinda got there, but that's about as good as we'll get...
>>220756107The movie is better than the book. In fact, both books are soulless and clinical in their writing and the characters are less than one dimensional. The movie injects much needed heart and characterization into it. The second book is also absurdly woke.

>>220765393Youtubers have brainwashed you zoomers into thinking the only difference between the movie and the books is the gore. The book has a much better sci-fi feel to it. It also adds so much more interesting info, like the dinosaurs actually leaving the island, the whole Gennaro-Muldoon subplot where they hunt the trex, the scene where Muldoon fights against the raptors, that moment where they realize that there are like thirty raptors in the island, the ending where Grant, Sattler and Gennaron find the raptors' nest (one of my favorite moments in the book) and watch how they were getting ready to escape the island. >>220768478>None of the scenes you mentioned would've made for entertaining cinemaWhy? Those scenes sound pretty interesting. First Jurassic Park movie is kino but the fact it was made into a family adventure story is one of the reasons why the franchise turned into such a piece of shit slop garbage. The novel does a far better job at showing just how corrupt and evil big corporations are, and to not just "trust-le-science". Also, Crichton was based as fuck.

>>220760197Unironically My favorite scene in the entire book is when the author is describing how the feeders would distribute vitamins to the dinosaurs but would keep doing it to the point that it was overdosing them and whenever someone tried to correct the system the alarms would sound. I just loved the detail of that and how it got into the weeds of how the technology was all automated and fighting the technicians. It was a real glimpse into what was going to come with so-called "smart" bullshit.

Its constant "why didnt you do X?" followed by "we knew it couldn't happen so planned no contingency for it" to "oops it happened idiots".The river scene is still shitty and pointless but scenes like grant going "how do you track the animals?" and they go "motion sensors, we say theres X of Y so they count up to X" and he goes "and you never thought to at least add more units in case something escaped into another enclosure?" and then they check and it goes "velociraptors: 7 expected, 28 found" and you know that shit would hit hard.

Unlike yourself I enjoy films enough not to spoil them by reading the script in advance like the idiots who view a workprint of a film, pre effects and music.
>>220768478Pull Steve's cock out of your mouth.
>>220773201You will be in Spielberg Westworld threads shilling later this year. Koepp cope.
>>220772835>Reminder Crichton was a highly respected sought after surgeonbullshit, he graduated from med school and immediatly quit medicine because his writing was already selling quite well. Dude probably never even practised, he got an MD from Harvard for the sheer lulz.
I read the Andromeda strain and the one with a guy with a rage problem and was surprised by the science involved. This guy really researched everything.
>>220773642Okay, right after your mom's done eating my ass.
>>220756996The thing that sucks about Muldoon's Log is it makes him seem way more smarter and cautious than he was in the movie. I think it was a mistake to have him encounter and kill a raptor like he just did. Also it makes it seem like Jurassic Park is way more accident prone than it was in the film. All these guys dying should have caused huge legal shitfits.
>>220758040Don't forget the part where they were man-made creatures supplied by forbidden knowledge from the nephilim.
>>220758541One of the things that irks me about Jurassic World Evolution 3 is that they didn't attempt to make a lot of the new dinosaurs fit in with the Stan Winston/movie style. They've been trying to include more "accurate" options for dinosaurs and it looks really jarring when you put them near each other. Accuracytards tend to not get what makes a good and impressionable dinosaur design.
>>220773916he's in the top 2-3 worst writers I've ever read.he self inserts in every book as a know-it-all that somehow miraculously has more knowledge than all the experts put together.it's unfortunate to think that his being on best sellers list is an indication of the kinds of people that make up the world.
>>220774840isn't the excuse for those ones that they're biosyn dinos and all the scientists there are a bunch of featherfags?
>>220774907I don't think that's something that's ever been canonically established as far as I know. But who gives a shit about World lore anyways.
>>220774840it's not "accurate" either, no idea what the agenda is behind making dinosaurs lame and shit, but it's contrary to evidence.
>>220756107Jurassic Park the book is good. Only the first movie is okay if you're a child. Luckily AI will be able to make the first book by 2030. Unfortunately Skynet is also real. And Israel is not real per se but is a real major problem.
>>220774902You mean smart WASPs who out "climate change" as a Zio scam? Yeah they're terrible. Glad he was murdered
>>220774840It's so stupid because people act like there's nothing wrong with it, like it's supposed to be some sort of celebration of the different eras of paleoart styles. And then it's like, okay, if that's what it is then let's add the Iguanodon from the Victorian era. Then it's all aw geez dood, I dunno... Yeah, it doesn't fit, does it? So why try to force modern interpretations of these creatures to fit in with a bunch of movie creatures from a 90s franchise?
>>220773916He performed surgeries then went home and wrote screenplays and books. He also directed several movies during the time, late 1970s. Andromeda Strain earned him Stephen King money so he became an author full time but still had a residence in NYC and taught several medical students, he turned that experience into a TV series called ER, which rated #1 for nearly a decade and produced a little actor George Clooney whose character was an avatar for him. Now Stephen Spielberg pretends to have been the real genius all along because even though he was a top doctor he was diagnosed with an aggressive C word and died months later while railing against global warming and the totally debunked New World Order conspiracy theory. Really makes you think.
Did anyone else read Micro? Some of the parts made me feel funny.
I'm starting to see this trend from liberal paleofags of pretending people wanting a Jurassic Park novel adaptation is "chud coded" by strawmanning that they only want to see le gore and le baby death and ow the le edge. It's just really performative and I'm not surprised to start seeing it in these threads. The main reason people want a novel adaption is yes, because it's a bit darker, but only in response to Universal turning the franchise into a something Fast & Furious-adjacent. The original JP trilogy was filled with thrilling moments and horror elements. People just want to get back to and experience the root of it all after being fed nothing but Marvelslop for over a decade.Faggots.
>>220758850Movie should have kept the miniature elephant desu. It really encapsulates Hammond’s showmanship along with his reckless experiments and highly questionable ethics. But I guess since Spielberg wanted Hammond in a more sympathetic light for the film they couldn’t have him parade around a miserable and dying science experiment.
>>220773117For some reason The Lost World takes a second to tell you that he died of diarrhea in between novels.
>>220770532>becoming a franchise. You that like it was a good thing. Jurassic Park is such a wasted potential of a franchise it's outrageous.
>>220772170He's definitely rolling around in his grave.
>>220756107The book is better but I'm happy with the movie we got
>>220760136>SphereUnbelievably kino. Still my favorite depiction of a UFO in any book or movie. Movie was ass.
>>220775690I make it sound like a testament to the first films success, both critically and financially. Didn't say it was good nor bad, that's a matter of preference.
>>220775307I didn't like nano machine gore. Bug kills were ok. One of the tiny kids sees a giant boob for few seconds, but that's it for fan service
>>220775307>Did anyone else read Micro? The only posthumous release worth anyone's time. Comfortably sits along the rest of his library unlike the other zombie books. Could be a kino film in the hands of the right team.
>>220760136Rising Sun is cool because it was speculative fiction when it was published but is now alt-history.
>>220756107I wish my ADHD would let me read while books instead of useless facts about history
>>220775888I'd prefer if I had gotten my JP cartoon in the 90s like I was supposed to, dammit.
>>220764536Birds have feathers for flight and insulation. It keeps them warm and it keeps them aerodynamic.T-rex did not fly.T-rex also lived at a time where the planet was drastically warmer, it would most likely not need insulation.T-rex with feathers is the gayest fag shit ever and you all need to stop.
>>220756107A new adaptation should put more onus on the corporate skulduggery. Nedry's handler Dodgson is a major character in the novel. We should see more of him.
>>220758737You’re right.
>>220758040
>>220776014That would've been tight. There's always Cadillacs and Dinosaurs.
>>220758040If Dinosaurs are against God then I'm against God. I know if nobody has my back Dinosaurs have my back.
>>220776138Succession but with actual reptiles. And dinosaurs. Oh my vey.
>>220775365I was saddened fuentes used "performative" in a tweet. not anon too
>>220775748Sane opinion
>>220758541What do you call a gay dinosaur?Mega-sore-ass!
>>220756597You really triggered the pseudointellectuals with this one anon.
>>220775890No it was the villian who sees a giant boob before he gets eaten by a bat.
You're not allowed to die yet, thread's too good.
The book plot but with the movie characters would be the ultimate kino
>>220760136Ahem...
>>220756107Why?Lexi is a fucking brat in it
>>220775365Stop making stuff up in your head to make yourself upset, anon
