There's no need to apologise but I honestly avoid people most of the time because conversations like this are so tiring; they just want you to agree with them or say something like "you're no fun," or "not everything has to be super deep," or whatever other stupid defensive shit they spout that betrays they don't have a mind of their own.

Roland Emmerichs filmography is basically packed with those types of movies. They are a spectacle but completely hollow and soulless.
