Have they shown RDJ as Doom at all? They actually covered it up pretty well so far. When’s that trailer gonna finally get released?
>>
>>220778686
They did the character trailers but its pretty obvious we're not getting anything until spider-man comes out.
>>
>>220778686
it will crack a clean two billys and you will seethe about it
>>
Marvel typically releases major trailers around the 6-month window before premiere dates
>>
>>220778686
It will go down as the biggest misstep in the history of business that they did not move the date past the dune 3 release. They are going to lose so much fucking money.
>>
>>220778778
Doubt it, I don't give a fuck about Dune before Avengers. Dune doesn't have spoilers.
>>
>>220778823
tbf that's because everybody knows what happens in Dune if you want to. LOTR didn't have spoilers either.
>>
>>220778831
Exactly, which is why it's an easy choice between Avengers and Dune. I can also go to the movies 2 days in a row, I'm not poor.
>>
>>220778823
Dune is huge with the 16-38 year old male audience, and marvel has fell out hard with that demographic. Dune is seen as cool and edgy and smart, and Disney marvel is seen as twee shit for babies and teenage girls. Also dune 3 has an exclusive deal with imax and Disney won’t be able to have imax showings for doomsday until January. This might actually be the begining of Disney film studios going bankrupt lmfao
>>
pretty sure even marvel studios don't give a fuck about marvel movies anymore
>>
>>220778879
I'm sure they do care about this one.
>>
>>220778872
I'm 37 and anyone who likes Dune a bunch is always a weird fag probably with a mustache. Most theatres aren't real IMAX and IMAX isn't necessary. As long as I can see a movie without extra bullshit like that screen stretch AI bullshit or 3D then I'm happy. I highly doubt Disney will go bankrupt.
>>
>>220778823
I don't like Dune or watched it but if they are making 3 of these things there is clearly a huge market for it
>>
>>220778686
They've done a few short character-specific trailers. They were highly publicized, it's on you if you missed them.
That aside, there's a Spider-Man movie coming out first. After that they will probably move on to promoting Doomsday more heavily.
>>
>>220778872
>disney going bankrupt
Alas, they have Toy Story 5, whatever they get from Sony on Spider-Man 4, and Moana live action slop.
>>
>>220778757
How well Doomsday performs at the BO is actually the most interesting thing about it. Marvel movies have been underperforming and this is Disney's major attempt in steering the ship to a direction they think fans want to see it go.
Financially it makes sense, but will the audience actually bite?
>>
>>220778686
The buildup to Endgame was insane. It genuinely seems like everyone's moved on except the few diehards.
>>
>>220778907
Well just to clarify I said Disney film studios going bankrupt, and it’s definitely a long shot, but a 2 billion dollar movie flopping by only making ant man 3 numbers would be the canary in the coal mine
>>
>>220778901
It's not about a market, it's that Dune books are 50 years old and have been read and have synopsis. It's gonna be a good movie I'm sure but I just don't care to see it before Avengers. Especially in December, Dune should be a summer movie.
>>
>>220778686
Capeshit is under the gunn
>>
>>220778686
i just dont really care anymore
they should have rebooted it entirely after endgame
>>
>>220778686
Unfortunately there's just no real draw since I don't even know who the protagonists are. Iron Man is obviously gone, Cap is back I guess but I have no clue in what capacity. They needed the F4 to be good but unfortunately that movie was boring as fuck and I couldn't care less about them so they can't headline things against the guy who is supposed to be their nemesis.
>>
>>220778990
This is the reboot ya goober. Secret Wars leads into a new universe.
>>
>>220778686
coulkd beat them at yu-gi-oh
>>
>>220778686
There's no hype because its obvious that this is a desperate attempt at course correcting. Everything since Endgame has felt directionless. People liked the MCU back then because it always felt like it was building to something. Like why should I be hyped to see characters they already gave endings to come back so that they can fighr a guy who had no buildup?
>>
>>220778950
Yeah, Emdgame was a good example of a franchise that had a lot of fans growing up with it. The Endgame literally the endgame for the series the people had grown up with. It's pretty hard to replicate that after a good chunk of they audience has decided that they've now seen all they want to. All that comes after feels like a lukewarm rehash.
>>
>>220778686
He'll be fine
>>
>>220778778
>>220778823
it's not about dune as a movie but dune and nolan taking away ever Imax possible for doomsday
>>
>>220778686
See if Marvel was confident about this movie at all they would have kept RDoomJ a secret until, you know, the movie was actually released. THAT would have created a big buzz and made people interested in checking out the movie. That's how movies used to work, people would get mindblown in the fucking theater instead of at Comic Con or in press conferences a full year before the actual release
>>
>>220778757
I'd be surprised if it breaks $400m. The energy is just not there
>>
>>220778686
I'd like to be optimistic but... well... I think it's pretty much fucked.
>>
They are confident and think people are hyped for this but its too risky there is almost no publicity for the movie nobody cares about superheroes anymore only old people do
>>
>>220780792
no it isn’t no movie kept the casting of its A-list actor lead villain a secret. Even Terminator 2 spoiled Arnold being a good guy terminator in the ads.
>>
>>220780763
IMAX doesn't matter. There's literally barely any true 70mm IMAX screens in the US. I feel like people who harp about this don't actually know anything about movies.
>>
>>220778686
You'll hear. It's going to be very real.
>>
>>220778686
PEEP PEEP MOTHAFUCKA lmaooo
>>
>>220780792
>>220780792
The chimp outs in the cinema would make it impossible for people to watch the rest of the movie. There would literally be fist fights going on from people trying to shut each other up
>>
>>220778738
marketing starts around 5-6 months before release, proper trailers around 3 months prior.
>>
>>220778778
>>220778823
The fuck is Dune?
You guys mean DUNC?
>>
>>220778950
That's because 90% of people were smart enough to take ENDgame as an Ending. Who wanted to see more after a, for the most part, satisfying ending? "O-oh but Iron Man died!!!" Yeah? That's the point, the universally agreed upon main character of the series gave his life to save those he loves and everyone else in the universe and the characters and audience both pay their respects to him. That's it, the story has been told. "B-But the loose ends!" which ones? Thor and the Guardians teaming up? Cool, that's an ending for them. Falcon getting the shield? Cool, nice ending to his run as falcon and nice ending to Steve's life as a hero. See, there's a running theme of things "ending" here, and the only people who didn't realize that were the suits making it. What they thought were setups, were in fact stopping points. I have not seen a single marvel thing since Endgame except for Deadpool, and even that movie itself does everything in its power to have as little to do with the mcu as possible and instead behaves as a fun fanservice fest, it's no coincidence that's the one Marvel production since endgame people actually gave a fuck about and went watch. Funnily enough, deadpool is a movie that also serves as an ending. No, I am not counting the spider man movies. People went watch them because they're spider man movies, not mcu movies.
>>
>>220778749
I didn’t even know a new Spider-Man was coming out either
>>
>>220781289
Damn, you must not pay attention to anything ever.
>>
>>220781328
I mean I knew one was coming out just didn’t know it was like next month. I figured it was six months away lol
>>
>>220778757
Literally everything is going to bomb this year. The only movies that will do "well" will be low budget enough to turn a profit at like 100,000,000 BO. The war is going that badly and even if it ends tomorrow it will take like a year for things to even begin to go back to normal. Everyone is in survival mode economically and they will wait for home release.
>>
>>220781345
Michael and Mario
>>
Is Doom even an interesting villain? He was always jobbing to The Fantastic Four.
>>
>>220781469
Made 400 million less than it's predecessor 3 years ago, didn't even break a billion. Not a flop outright but it underperformed. Michael didn't break a billy either. The big billion dollar movie with a huge marketing budget isn't working anymore.
>>
>>220781474
He's one of the best villains of all time.
>>
>>220778757
0 chance of that
>>
>>220778950
They showed up for big events like No Way Home and Deadpool 3 and mostly skipped the rest. That's the new normal for capeslop until not even a million cameos is enough for $1b
>>
Anyone got the viewing numbers for capeshit past Endgame?
>>
>>220781345
and it's not worth going into the movies for blockbusters, because they are shit. the writing is shit, the visuals are shit, everything is shit. smaller movies that are good are also not worth watching in the cinema, because watching a drama, thriller, comedy or horror on a giant screen adds nothing to the experience.
>>
>>220778738
>They actually covered it up pretty well so far.
there's been like a dozen pictures of doom that "leaked" or were just used in ads in south america or whatever already
>>
>>220778686
It's weird how they colored it green because of farts
>>
>>220778686
>did 20 years in the can
>not a peep
