I went out to my car to check what happens if you have your foot on the accelerator and then you relax your muscles. It increases your speed a little, but it does not push the pedal to 100%. I'm not sure how much I'd trust some computer software that claims it was fully depressed though. I dunno. Murder might have been a stretch but I probably would have definitely gone for drunk driving if I was on the jury and call it a day. She probably should have just taken a plea deal.

I was particularly amused by how the seemingly irrelevant vapidity of the suspect came back in Act Two. "She wouldn't even eat McDonalds because she was so worried about her appearance, do you really think her murder plan would involve disfiguring her face?" It was a very convincing remark, and crashing your car into the wall wasn't a great plan to begin with.

Anyway, whatever, she's not very sympathetic so no one cares, but I doubt this is some grand miscarriage of justice on an innocent woman like it was in the Lucy Letby case or something. I won't accept a job in the United Kingdom, period, because of what they did to her.

I watched the bodycam around the time of the incident and sort of forgot about it until the documentary. Sometimes the documentaries are better than the raw footage, sometimes they are worse.

An example of it being worse would be like the Murdaugh murders. They just hired actors to play scenes I'd already seen but they weren't as good as real life.

This one was better though because a lot of the context wasn't available in a bodycam video of her being taken out of a smashed car.

That was one of the first things they checked, idiot. She was clean aside from some residual THC in her system but even that wasn’t high enough to cause major impairment especially for how much and how often she smoked.

She also wasn’t gunning it the whole way. She made a slow controlled turn onto the stretch, THEN gunned it. The road also wasn’t completely straight meaning she had to subtly maneuver the car around slight bends in the road. The gas was floored for 5 seconds which, in real time, is a very long time.

The investigators did a good job of closing off all routes for her defense. It’s really hard to conclude that this was anything but intentional.

The 'accident' theory is simply an impossible series of events. Even moreso when you consider that she had motive and is on record the previous week driving dangerously. The CCTV evidence is what sunk her at trial. Nobody drives that fast for so long and so adroitly by accident.

When prosecutors see your phone active and moving all times of the day, and then suddenly for the exact amount of time the crime was committed the phone was either turned off (which it never is), or you're suddenly NOT active on it and it's stationary when there's no pattern of behavior to suggest that that sort of thing is normal, it can be used as circumstantial evidence against you.

When my granma was a kid the person she bought eggs from had a retarded daughter and they had her locked up in a shed like that woman in RDR2, they just brought her food and toys everyday but she never came out because allegedly she was always running away or causing trouble.
