this poor guy will never receive a single cent for his idea
>>

It’s not his idea. It’s not original at all.
>>
>>220796698
where is the image itself from?
>>
>>220796713
That's life. JK Rowling took the concept of wizards from other people and executed it well and became a billionaire. It's not the originator. It's the popularizer that capitalizes.
>>
>>220796713
Which one?
The one that posted the picture or wrote the words?
They are two different posters.

>>
>>220796713
it was kind of a shitty idea, so it's no biggie. I could come up with a shitty idea right now, like, uh, air conditioners that steal your soul. It's not worth anything, even if a hollywood executive steals it.

okay i have a million dollar movie idea here: ummmm, so. what if there was a woman who didn't have to be forced into have sex, she actually enjoyed it and just goes around boinking every man she sees and she's nonchalant about it and doesn't even take money. But turns out she actually has a disease, but it's sexually transmitted and she can't transmit it to other women, only other men because women can't boink other women but it doesn't have much of an effect on men because they're already rather willing to have sex freely and it's kind of like invasion of the body snatchers I guess where everyone's personality keeps changing as people are purposefully spreading the disease and you could call the movie something like:

Boinker Bonkers

ackrooms is woefully boring. Inept, meandering, and all style, no substance, the film is just like the Backrooms it comes from. A movie without a plot, the performers do a fine job with a substandard script. There’s a distinct lack of scares outside of POV scenes.

>the only reason to give ideas is to make money
This is why you will never amount to anything significant. Ideas aren't a single thing, they branch and evolve from other ideas. 4chan is less regulated on the ideas that flow through it. That picture from the looks like it was from one of those creepy pasta threads and are essentially a stream of consciousness freeform creative horror collection. Your pathetic bug mind can't understand anything unless it's subverted for your own benefit which by definition walls you off from any creative process. You are a parasite, in simpler terms
>>
>>220799826
Because no one person controls the narrative and a lot of the stories are copyrighted. If I said SCP movie, who do you think comes to mind as writer/director? Exactly. Whereas Backrooms attributes a lot of its popularity to Kane's videos (some people even seem to think HE invented it).
>>
>>220796713
He'd be lucky if he's even acknowledged, considering it was a post on le evil 4chan chud website. It's a little surprising Kane hasn't drawn Reddits ire for taking inspiration from a 4channer.
>>
>>220796901
Not at all, but I would have assumed it was a lolcats movie
>>
>>220796713
Did any anon ever come out and attempt to claim to have written that post? Even if he lives under a rock and doesn't give a fuck he would surely heard of a movie based on his post coming to cinemas. Is he seething? Or is he proud? Or he gave up because there's no way to prove he wrote it?
>>
>>220800801
Probably gave up since he can't prove it, such is how an anonymous basket weaving forum goes.
>>
>>220796747

>>220800801

>>
>>220796905
>air conditioners that steal your soul

>>
>>220800839
If I remember correctly (since I was there kek), the OP image didn't really mention anything about backrooms or any lore thing, it was that other anons post later in the thread that started the lore bit. The thread was just about weird locations or some shit as I recall, and the original photo just looks that way because the boomer with the camera didn't set the white balance correctly.
>>
>>220800755
There are multiple Backrooms communities on Reddit alone. It is far beyond its origin's shadow, nobody cares, and most people don't even think 4chan is THAT bad outside of /pol/. No, Patrick, news reports from 15 years ago are not a barometer for public opinion.
>>
>>220800896
But still, celebs used to post on here and some even acknowledged that they did, but that doesn't happen anymore.
>>
>>220800835
I wonder how many of my posts have been "stolen" and used somewhere else.
I know that two of my meme shitpost images ended up being popular several years ago and I've seen them reposted A LOT on other websites, but that's it.
>>
>>220800923
You'd be amazed. I post on /p/ a lot and one of my photos makes the rounds in vaporwave and liminal space threads here on 4chan and also on Reddit because of the location and coloring on the photo, as it was a real location and I just pushed a few colors to be more vibrant than they really are. No credit or anything for the photo, only people guessing where it was taken. The photo is even on my Instagram page and yet none of that backsearch shit seems to match it my page, fuck knows why.
Anyway, whatever you post on here really does just end up being taken and nobody ever acknowledges the origin.
>>
>>220796905
Sounds like a ripoff of korean fan death
>>
>>220800948
That's mostly fine if you really want people to just see your stuff and you don't care about recognition.
But it also means nobody will post any serious high-effort stuff on here because they probably care about it being linked back to them. And so we end up with only having twitter screencap reaction ragebaiting threads. Which is then also stolen by grifters farming screenshot compilations to their meme pages.
>>
>>220800988
>That's mostly fine if you really want people to just see your stuff and you don't care about recognition.
I think for me, because I'm photographer and want to share my work, I'd like to be known for it and be recognized. I'm not saying I want an award or anything, but just to have people go "cool I want to see what else this guy has" would be nice.
>But it also means nobody will post any serious high-effort stuff on here because they probably care about it being linked back to them.
Pretty much. Having your grand movie idea or whatever linked back to here wouldn't go well and people would just say it's a chud movie or some shit.
>>
>>220796698
But what if the original poster is the director himself? True artists play the long game.
>>
Back in my day the backrooms were called WEIRDCORE!!!!!!!
>>
>>220801013
Why not have a small profile name or url in the corner of the photos you post?
But on the other hand, posting anything here that can doxx you is probably a terrible idea.
>>
>>220801037
Yeah exactly, I don't think I want 4chan attached to my work like that. I do post in multiple places, so it could be played off as someone else posting it, but still.
>>
>>220800923
my random post on /g/ ended up in youtube video "/g/ technology thread simulator" or something like this by some guy who was making such compilation videos about other boards as well, with voiceovers and funny effects, and getting millions of views

Make a blog, write it there as a short story, then spread on 4chan as a copypasta without any association to you. If your idea gains traction and popularity you can develop it further and it will always be legally yours because it was on your blog first.
That's what happened with pic related story (wrote by the Project Hail Mary author) which only gained popularity as a copypasta/screenshot from 4chan, but it originated on his website so he then received offers to adapt it because he could prove it's his.

IP is the only reason the industrial revolution happened. If there are no protections on IP, then there is no reason to invent, because someone else can just steal your idea after you do the work to create it. The world then stagnates as no one spends the resources to innovate and just waits for the other guy to make the first move.
