It was also shot on digital rather than film, so it still has that modern film look despite the editing attempting to try and make it look like film. The CGI looks better in Black and White, harder to notice, but it's also still too obvious. Very amateur in some shots. The darker scenes with Cage as The Spider look absolutely fantastic. The darks are actually dark and the contrast really gives it an older film look. They should have tried to emulate that more.They also should have had more voice over from Cage. The opening having it was great, but everything after has felt too modern. They should have really leaned into the over the top noir style. Sugar, on Apple did that and it was great, though the show itself is average and the twist is cringe.
