Why can't we have cinematic videogame adaptations this faithful?

kino

God Final Fantasy's stories are hot trash why do fuckwits like this shit?
>>
>>220802314
you didn't play the game in 1999
or ever
>>
>>220801966
There is jeet stench all over this.
>>
>>220802362
>in 1999
Why would this matter, retard?
>>
God, I wish someone remade the Freespace 1 intro the same way. That shit was so cash you could adapt it 1:1 into a kino.
>>
>>220802314
Wrong! They are convoluted but they are fun as hell! I wanted to be in balance garden for so long! Ride the overboard, play the card game, plan the band music with selphie!
>>
>>220801966
These things are always cool concepts but basic stuff like the 180° rule really shits it up as it's difficult to tell where things are supposed to be happening
>>
>>220801966
>military academies that indoctrinate children and mold them into unflinching soldiers float around the surface of the planet, sieging cities and doing battle with one another
one disc later:
>AKSHUALLY every named character, even the big-bad, in the entire story thus far were orphans that all lived under the same roof decades ago and... and... something
kino.
>>
>>220802509
Go back to your tiktoks lil bro.
>>
>>220803609
You are insecure as fuck.
>>
>>220804586
He hit a nerve huh lmao
>>
>>220803201
I still couldn't tell if the game had 2 lead writers vying for control or the lead left midway the project and another had to scramble something together at the last minute or a fuckton of stuff was left on the cutting room floor because they were running out of budget.
>>
How did I know it would be AI slop.
>>
>>220802314
it's anime, so the stories must be trash by law
>>
>>220801966
>>220803201

If you didn't play this game back in the day you are a dumb goy

>Hey this white guy is running a child soldier PMC
>b-but wait actually inside the academy its actually a giant fat (Literally jewish) alien slug that is a a money grubbler and tricked the goy into killing human kids for money
>>
The story would be better without Ultimecia and with Adel as the final bad guy.
>>
>>220801966
Anon the only consistent thing about FF is that every game is different. If they just retold an old story, they'd be doing it wrong.
>>
>>220805028
Not at all.
>>
>>220801966
my favorite ff game. much better than 7 in terms of story, gameplay, and characters. even the memory/identity subplot is better because it’s actually integrated into the mechanics of the magic system, instead of just
>uh he forgot who he was and thought he was someone else because of like traumatic or whatever.
>>
FF8 was hot trash, and a warning of what the series would become without Sakaguchi.
>>
>>220807060
>>220807091
It's so polarizing lol. I love it because of the low poly graphics that still somehow made em look human. The 3D modelers were definitely streets ahead.
>>
>>220807091
6, FFT, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12 are all breddy gud
>>
>>220801966
atrocious
>>220807091
You're the kind of retard who spent the entire game drawing magic in battles instead of getting magic from cards and items. Too stupid to junction. "da game sucks cuz da enemies scale to your level! leveling up should make it easier!"
All FFVIII haters are NPCs who parrot the same retard "I didn't understand how to play a game for kids" sob story.
>>
balamb garden is such a comfy location. could be a truly kino tv show.
>>
>>220808012
NTA - FF8 is stinky dogshit and I have never once complained about the junction system because I got bored with the shitty characters, world, and story before I had time to find the gameplay shit too
>>
>>220808012
To be fair, the functioning system was confusing as hell for a kid and even most.adults. you have to power through and it becomes more intuitive the longer you play.

No Indian man has ever played Final Fantasy 8
>>
I remember reading long ago in a gaming magazine the connective tissue of the games is that victory against the forces of evil should seem impossible in them all, and the one-in-a-million chance that the heroes could win is their final fantasy and why they push forward. Could be bs but I like it.
>>
>>220803201

Squall die at the end of disc one, the rest of the game it's a coma allucination
>>
>>220809251
then what was causing them to be temporarily sent back to laguna’s time?
>>
>>220802306
>Squall is so handsome

He was inspired by River Phoenix
>>
>>220810146
we all were

with all the video game adaptations lately, it wouldn’t surprise me to see some films based on final fantasy games sometime soon. could be kino.

How is that relevant?

it was unironically kino

No it wasn't, and no amount of contrarian shilling will make it so

there are several FF movies newfrend

the boat attack on Dollet was my entire identity as a teen
>>
>>220803201
They only made Gardens because they got the idea from future Squall and the Sorceress time travelling. It's honestly a better story than Back to the Future
>>
>>220801966
Man this is fucking terrible. Are there really people here autistic enough to not constantly get the heebie jeebies for completely unlike human interaction this is?
>>
Where the heck is Selphie during this? Was she on a different team? Can't remember.
>>
>>220812445
yes it was and yes it will
spirits within literally contains all the necessary elements a final fantasy movie needs
>alternate world
>materia
>character named cid
everyone just cried because on the surface it's a sci-fi movie with the FF name attached to it.
>>
>>220812701
That's not the surface, that's the entire thing. The fucking FF15 tie in movie with half the cast of game of thrones is more FF than that shit
>>
>>220812586
everyone teleporting around and the constant fade to blacks are completely natural

>>220812701
or maybe they cried tears of boredom because it was an absolute snoozefest

Selphie was on Team A. You lose points if you talk to anyone that isn't required, but if you do happen to talk to members of Team A on the beach, they mention they're working on hacking into the local internet equivalent to relay messages. Since Selphie ultimately has to come and deliver the order to withdraw in person, we can assume that her team failed, and her bravery in aiding Squall in battle is why she was the only member of her team to become a Seed
>>
>>220812454
I’m talking about live action hollywood adaptations of the story from a main series ff game.
>>
>>220812723
>The fucking FF15 tie in movie with half the cast of game of thrones is more FF than that shit
that tie-in slop is exactly the problem you chuds have with FF movies, you can't accept the idea that each new entry is meant to be a different canon except when square caves in to fan demands and makes unnecessary sequels. 15 was all fine and dandy but didn't need a tie-in film. yes advent children was kino but still unnecessary. final fantasy isn't about the setting or characters, it's about the themes and spirits within fucking nailed it on the thematic aspects.
>>
>>220812837
>it's about the themes and spirits within fucking nailed it on the thematic aspects
I swear to god if you make me watch this and you're just bullshitting and it's as bad as I remember I'm going to drive to Lexington and kill your mom with a machete as she leaves work
>>
>>220809120
The problem with the junction system is there is no appropriate moderate usage of it. You either don't get it and just sort of wing it, or you figure it out and instantly break the entire difficulty of the game with it, and there's basically no middle ground. I respect it for trying something very different for rpg systems at the time but this was ultimately a failure.
>>
>>220805089
Blame FF7's huge unexpected success, Squaresoft at that time already enforced short developments time on the regular but after that they cut it down even more and with that most of the plot, which was going to be 50% Squall and 50% Laguna.
>>
>>220812927
>You either don't get it and just sort of wing it, or you figure it out and instantly break the entire difficulty of the game with it
Isn't this true of most games? Like there are two Tekken players, the people who don;t know the meta well enough and can't stunlock their opponent with an unstoppable combo, and those who can
>>
>>220812985
No, most games definitely have some grey area where you understand the mechanics but are still working towards mastery.
>>
>>220812876
do it faggot (watch the movie)
you won't no balls
