First of all, you don't stop a take or ruin a take just cause of what's going on. Even in the food world, you take a taste and smile and say it's great no matter what. He's a professional.
Second, he's not making the decision to keep that take or to move on or redo it. It's the producers and social media managers making the final call whether or not to do another take. If they say "no one will care", Gordon doesn't get to say "nah mate this one's shit, less hav anoda go."
Cooking for a promotional or recipe video is not the same as cooking in a kitchen. They are probably stopping all the time or getting in his face or telling him to repeat a line.

I'm a great cook but I have to cook for a massive family. So my 10 inch sauce pan braises or carbon steel wok stir fries that I need for batches can't cut it for my family. Usually end up cooking chicken thighs in the oven or some form of pasta ragu. Sometimes meatball subs. Have a 5 year old who can eat anything and my wife's 7 and 8 year olds are picky.

It's presumably just meant to be a Juicy Lucy, though the cheese isn't melted enough. Either use less cheese or cook the burger more, or hollow out the top of the burger before flipping, pack in the cheese, melt with a culinary torch, pack the meat back on it, and flip.
