>>220810563>>220810667Added. Sorry.
>>220810249Gimme something to watch tonight anons, something new, I haven't watched too many new horrors lately.
>>220811203Longlegs or The Empty Man
>>220811256Seen the Empty Man, loved it actuallyLonglegs is a strong contender, was between that and Weapons
>>220811272Longlegs is better. It may actually be the greatest movie ever made and it perfectly encapsulates where we are as a civilization.
Reminder it's fine for Art to chainsaw dicks and butts, scalp heads, shotgun point blank mothers, blow up children, acid bath roasties, living torso roasties while literally writing PIG, CUNT, BITCH, SLUT on them with a knife and sewing their pussies shut but he will never EVER commit sexual assault and rape!!!!!1!
>>220810432 been meaning to watch that the past couple weeks

>>220812778That's pretty bad.

>>220812531It' not though

Dead gen lately. Where's all the drama that normally keeps this thread bumped?
>>220814408you mean the drama that keeps sentient people away?
>horror movie>begins with a fortune teller warning characters of their impeding doomalways kino
>>220810450>the part where she walks the kairo ghost girlAny other movies for this feel?
>>220810249https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1evJLDsA8o
>>220811456based anon who remembered my rant a few threads ago thank you also Damien Leone literally hates David Howard Thorntons guts. its really funny I need to find that deleted tweet where he said David was using HIS icon to be deranged about politics. and no i dont like trump, but David literally posts about trump 50+ times a day on his facebook. the man literally spends all of his time telling his obese female fan followers to do political violence. its funny trolling him on facebook because he never replies to his fat orbiter women, but he sure does reply to me when i shit on him lol one woman in particular, her entire life and profile was dedicated to David. he never replied to her once. I took great joy in telling her "how does it feel knowing david takes time out of his day to message me, but never even acknowledges yoyr existance?" it had her quite upsetyes i know im a loser too and not any better
>>220814001>>220814065i'm telling you, the acting was bad at moments in the original Carriei did like the movie, both the remake and the original
>>220814593For me, it's when the producer/director appears before the camera and warns the audience that the ensuing film may be too shocking and intense for the faint of heart, offering a last chance for those with a particular sensitivity to terror to leave the room
wtf did I just watchwtf was that endingthere is no connection between one half of the movie and the other half
Toxic-flavored Entertainment for freaks, fricks, geeks, gacks, goofs, weirdos, queerdos, and overall fine-quality folks—all things we love ourselves or are planning to see. Bizarre but not brainrot, this is Thinker's Fun: Alternative universes. Looney Tunes goth. Alien ideas. Queered views. DIY passion and creativity. Strange toots and dark-zone ear jammage. Puppets puppets puppets. Other-dimensional animations. Punkedelic freakouts. Heavy Playhouse spirit. Vibes at max.

Just finished. Loved it but can't imagine /hor/ being into it. This is traumaslop up and down, to the point there's a "psychological consultant" in the credits, something I don't think I've seen before. The main characters are a therapist and her patient. Think WOM will be bad, it's kind of boring by normie standards, and also its "scares" tend to lean goofy. The 'big bad' is going to have a lot of people laughing. it's a giant black sea pirate, lmao. Seems like a Backrooms side story, doesn't dive too deep into the phenomenon overall, just these specific characters experience with it. A lot of imagination in the set design. Not much else to say.
>>220815812>SpoilerThat makes no sense but okayI'll probably skip this one
>>220815951Basically the backrooms are a collective unconscious that replicate everything that's ever existed, both actually and in people's thoughts. The MC runs a pirate themed furniture store that he feels trapped by, therefore a monstrous version of the store's mascot is created by the room that kills him, lmao
>>220815812Looks like Obsession truly won kek
Got all of you beat with the classic Karen Black's Trilogy of Terror>>third story in the film
>>220816055Backrooms will probably make more money because it's for NPCs
>the part where an enjoyable movie becomes retarded
what does Backrooms have to do with scary dolls?this is about creepy doll films like Fatso and Trilogy of Terror and Puppet Masters
>>220816093This was really cool and then took a nosedive as soon as Dr. Exposition showed up
>>220816076Disagree, Obsession is more normie friendly because it revolves around relationship drama. Word of mouth was nuts, BO actually went UP week over week without the movie expanding, which is unheard of. WOM on Backrooms will be middling at best. My theater was full of teenagers that were clearly bored.
>>220816096This is /hor/ stupid, not /creepy dolls/. This is the way /hor/ works.
>>220816076Backrooms from what I heard is slow burn traumaslop that does better with critics than audience, while Obsession is good with both and has amazing word of mouth to actually get people out to the theather, not to mention the main theme of a psycho girlfriend prolly gets a lot more teens and young adults out than trauma sleep
>>220812778Hate these movies and Bousman in general.
>>220814867Heard Raimi's remaking this.
>>220815073It was a book adaption which I mainly blame but also a Koji film so they tend to be a bit mystical
Lol, Fixfaggot got banned.
>>220814905ah it's sad seeing people driven insane by the ability to post. It used to be this was just something they'd inflict on relatives on holidays
Did I just get jumpscared by Arnold Schwarzengger?

Took a few decades but I finally watched it and it's really, really fucking good.Even after hearing about if for forever I had no idea what it was about.
>>220817381Been wanting to watch it, where did you find it?
>>220817395nepu.to had it. great stuff.
>>220817476Thanks bro, I'll watch it soon
finally got around to watching this after being repeatedly suggested to by my sister, it wasn't bad for the most part. couple cute actresses, sara has a nice bum in that one scene, but i would've liked more spooky bits. an example of that would be paul's reappearance in the basement, had they watched the footage and seen that something took him it would've made the scene more impactful when he showed up instead of them just assuming he was fucking with them.didn't realize there was a director's cut when i first watched, but i'm not sure it's worth rewatching from from what i saw of the extended basement scene in the end. are the others even worth watching?it's a decent enough found footage if you're into that
>>220817515I enjoyed it. It was little anticlimactic but it was scary.7/10
>>220810249Original TV Slappy was way scarier than the movie version.
>>220817515>are the others even worth watching?I've seen them all: no. Extremely low effort and worse the farther you go.
>>220815812It's not a horror in any sense of the word, it's more like just a regular thriller with some supernatural shit. An anon also leaked the whole plot a few weeks ago and I thought the ending sounded too cliche to be real, but every sentence of his leak was 100% accurate.
>>220816076Doubtful, it occupies a niche and even the people in that niche (such as myself) find it extremely disappointing.
>>220817515>are the others even worth watching?HH2 and 3 are bafflingly bad compared to the first. They're kind of lore obsessed and forget that the clowns are the strong point. 4 is decent and 5 was ok too, though it drops the found footage aspect.
>>220817776I mean like the movie or not it's got a giant man eating monster that lives in a sentient infinite maze, that's pretty horror movie-y.
>>220817862Sure, but with a lot of shitty plot built around it. All he had to do was keep it found footage and it would've pulled in just about any horror fan.
Why did all the other zombies look normal and then she's some kind of gargoyle creature with a retractable jaw?
>>220818069She was probably already jacked up drugs before the trioxin hit. It maybe given her obsession with death in life made it more potent for her
>>220817691>>220817813alright, sounds like a one and done franchise
>>220817599Is that a real poster or fan made? You'd think they'd put more burninating on it
>>220817630Are the Goosebumps movies any good
>>220819138The original 1995 TV series? Unironically, yes. They had that strange 90s offbeat feel about them and a lot take place in areas that look straight out of a Stephen King novel, so they're pretty comfy. The dummy ones used to scare me pretty good when I was a kid. Night In Terror Tower also just freaked me out since the idea of not knowing who you are and your family not existing was scary to me as a kid.Not sure how impactful they'd be on someone who never saw them when they were young, but I think some of them remain pretty watchable, especially the dummy ones.
Just finished. Really dull and unengaging sorta zombie movie where a radio signal causes all men to start attacking women. A teen girl with a longbow tries to survive on her own after her parents kill each other. It all turns out it was a big sea monster causing it trying to get scientists to return its baby! Just boring as shit, and big chunks of it are in poor looking flash animation. Very little action, lots of wandering around. Japanese but directed by an American.

>>220819879That's the coolest fucking story I've ever heard in my life
>>220817381>>220817476>>220819496Just finished it. I liked it a lot. Very spooky and atmospheric, well acted, well shot, creepy. It was also very sad.I feel like 1970s horror films all have this atmospheric quality to them that horror films from other decades don't.

>>220820023>>220820053I was wrong, Obsession sold out and the wagie had to yell out to the crowd of zoomies and disappoint them. Good thing I book online.
>>220820100No, but Amanda Fix is
>>220819582I take it as it's a fuzzy/distorted memory of a real children's show he watched as a kid, which he now associates with the memory of accidentally shooting his mom

>>220810249Just watched Mirrors with Keifer Sutherland. He acted like a coked out madman the entire movie. It was pretty funny. His little sister was hot, so was his black wife. Not usually into black women but she's half-white or something and has perfect tits. Story went all over the place and ending kinda sucked but the cast made up for it. 6.5/10 not bad not great.

Despite being repetitive, repetitive, and Barker not knowing how to end it... pretty astounding first directorial effort. There's not a lot films to compare it to, aside from at times Kairo. I think the magic is that the film understands that a single hint of the supernatural is beyond terrifying. Even if it is in the body of a thicc little Mexicano.

>>220821931I think a lot of people want to rate it highly because it was directed by Garth Marenghi, but yeah I didn't get anything out of it either.
>>220822011Huh, nta but I didn't know that. Not exactly comedy. Personally I liked it even if it was maybe wobbly.
>>220822053>>220822011good acting from sean harris thoughi have only seen him in movies where he played strong characters so the climax of possum was impressive to me because of his performance

Good morning /hor/! Daily reminder that horror works best when it is infused with a Christian, Catholic, conservative, crypto-fascist moral. We are not progressing toward anything and there is nothing new under the sun.
>Fascism may be defined generally as a political and social movement having as its objective the re-establishment of a political and social order, based upon the main current of traditions that have formed our European civilisation, traditions created by Rome, first by the Empire and subsequently by the Catholic Church.
>Analog horror
Does 28 days/weeks later hold up today? Is 28 years later/bone temple good?Should I marathon the entire series?
>>220822665WNUF worked so much better than Buffet Infinity imo because the 'jokes' in WNUF are mostly just in the mannerisms of the performances instead of written into the script and made very obvious like they were in Buffethttps://youtu.be/w7PRw6y7lck
>>220823057i'll watch that next, some anon posted a list up top that included both

>>220823534It's just patronising. It's like when people who have had sex tell virgins that sex isn't that great or not a big deal.
>>220823587If you get on my level (36 year old virgin, never kissed or hugged a girl) you'll realize that it's probably right. They just don't understand the relativity of it. The kind of sex that they (the Betas) have isn't great and wasn't a big deal (for them, because they are Betas who are part of the hivemind and they fucked some similar hivemind drone). For the bottom of the barrel autistic ugly men, it is a huge deal because they are autistic and ugly, but it wouldn't be great either. When I imagine having sex with a girl, I don't imagine myself, I just imagine an alternate reality where I am not like me at all, and in the end my supreme hypothetical calculations still lead me to believe>yeah, now that I imagined myself as an Alpha gigachad who fucked the girl I had a crush on in high school, the ejaculation felt nice but I wouldn't wanna live like this, time to reload back to my own lifet. supreme inner voice haver who doesn't just imagine an apple, he imagines the apple's whole lifecycle and philosophical arguments about apples, in a nanosecond, when he feels like conceptualizing an apple
>>220823674>f you get on my level (36 year old virgin, never kissed or hugged a girl) No, you need to get on my level as an almost 39 kissless, hugless, handholdless, kissless, dateless, touchless, attractionless virgin. Your wizard powers are inferior to mine.
