It's not about forcing people to buy index funds, it's about changing the rules of the index so that the numerous, hugely capitalised index funds that *already exist* and track that index will be forced to buy Muskoid's stock before the markets have had a chance to parse through all of the bullshit and correct the price from whatever bollocks valuation the IPO is given.Normally indexes intentionally avoid including IPOs for many months specifically so the stock has a chance to find its *actual* value in the realm of active investing where people are making their bets with full knowledge of the risk involved, and index funds tracking that index are only exposed to the corporation after their price has stabilised at something approaching its actual value.That said anyone who buys a NASDAQ tracker is a fucking retard, index investing only makes sense using the most broadly diversified and global fund you can find which a NASDAQ tracker is very nearly the opposite of.
