Everything in space was fine, charming redditkino.Everything on earth before he leaves was unbearable, the script didnt have room to breathe and every bit of tension had to be broken up with a joke every two lines. What the fuck were they thinking? The earth scenes should have been more serious to communicate the stakes.

This movie was great. Aside from the scientific premise which was fucking retarded as always. German is from Toni Erdman which is also great.
I'm not against sentimental emotional comedy but this didn't really hit for me.Rocky felt completely sterile and design by committee and nothing actually made any sense. People even said it was "scientific" but I don't think I've seen any sci fi that required as much "dont think about it bro".

The goofy-ass lighthearted music playing all the time. I understand if that's the vibe you want to go for but doing it in every single scene? How are you supposed to take the situation seriously at all? saving the planet and all. And he doesn't even look that surprised when he meets the alien for the first time like, there's not a single scene where he's just taking it all in, it's just another tuesday for him. I don't know how people actually get invested in this horrible movie.
