I genuinely don't get this whole meme

How's any if this scary? Am I too old? What the fuck
>>
>>220818991
It's especially confusing when you read the shitpost it was based on. It's like someone read it and completely missed the irony.
>>
>>220818991
Even the whole analouge horror thing turned into memes after a few weeks with just people dancing with the monster instead of chasing you.

Imagine finally escaping to a labyrinth of infinite corridors and office spaces only to find that there are niggers and foids there too.
>>
>Dis some kind of liminal space or sumthin? ooo hell naaw dis sum wypipo sheeit!
>>
>>220818991
I don't understand why tards have a hard time with the concept.
The places seem "familiar" but are empty with no one present and you're stuck in there forever with no means to escape so you either die from thirst / starvation, get killed by some Lovecraftian shit in there or stay immortal in some mysterious way and go cray cray from being alone for eternity in an endless labyrinth of empty ass rooms.
What is important to note is that the whole liminal space thing did not start as fully horror originally. The /x/ post was basically a short horror story, but the liminal spaces craze was more than that. For a lot of people those spaces were mildly creepy but the main factor was some nostalgic and even comfortable "vibe". Weirdcore stuff was adjacent to the whole "liminal spaces" shit. So it was more melancholic / comforting for many for a while but the horror aspect ended up taking over in the end.
This is btw the explanation to why some people turned it into SCP shit. A lot of autists found the concept comforting and wanted to live or "explore" these kind of spaces, hence the introduction of SCP type shit with a trillion of rooms to explore.

Oh, no. A clean environment lacking in furniture. Save me.

>>

It's not
Not even the movie sticks to the "EMPTY OFFICE BLOCK AAAAAAAAAA" meme for the scares

Hmm... I'll have to skip it.

Watched the movie today and uh yeah it was fun until the third act. Then it just devolves into wannabe rob zombie esq mascot horror shitstorm. It ruined the entire movie.

It's like a bad dream, being mentally ill and forgetting the way back. Also, your pod person clone is coming to eat you.

Spoiler: The Backrooms is actually Invasion of the Pod People.

>horror = torture porn
Im confused because there is nothing scary about Martyrs. Nothing scary about Terrifier. Nothing scary about Saw?
>oh god this fictional character is gonna get hurt IM SHITTTTTTINGGGGG MY DIAPEY
Thats you when you watch any of this slop
>>
>>220820577
Good thing we're not talking about Martyrs, Terrifier or Saw and this is just a movie where people get killed by monsters
>>
What 4chan shitpost will be turned into a movie next? I hope someone makes a full movie out of that plane scene with CIA and Bane.
>>
>>220820485
Look there's a time and place for everything in horror but the actual horror of the backrooms is in the "unknown". Once you make your main character go crazy like homer Simpson for no reason. Because he had "no beer and no tv and went crazy", and then starts spoon-feeding lore & monologuing and showing really dumbass monsters that turn out to be harmless. Not even accounting for the fact that his "crazy arc" isn't showed to us so it doesn't even feel earned. It kinda ruins the whole movie. It's not a squeamish thing, or preference to nothing happening. It's basic ass filming 101 of don't show/explain the entire monster in flat lighting, and expect people to care after all the fear of the unknown is sucked completely dry.

>we’re not talking about Saw
