I struggle to think of a better written character in TV history desu

I don't know if this is meant to be ironic or not. But I actually do think Chuck is an amazingly written and performed character that elevates the first three seasons of BCS WAAAAY above what it would be otherwise. He is actually the main reason why those first three seasons are so great and unique and compelling. The show drops off a cliff after he leaves. Also this is when Vince stopped being show-runner. Coincidence?

I can least like 100 off the top of my head

Agreed the last season was pretty lame with all that Cartelslop
Youtube keeps recommending me BCS shorts that I end up watching and it's crazy how much subtlety goes into Chucks character. Like the way he reacts to Jimmy finding out about the Sandpiper fraud and just has the slightest reluctance to admit that it's a fucking huge deal. And this is at a point where the viewer is still clueless about Chuck hating Jimmy out of jealousy.

why do we relate to him so well?

That billboard! Are you telling me that a man just happens to fall like that!? No! He orchestrated it! Jimmy!

Great example. This is one part that really makes him complex because, as a great lawyer himself, he can't help but acknowledge and respect great lawyer-esque work like what Jimmy did with Sandpiper in season 1, and yet the very deep and long-running resentment that he has (which is, imo, mostly justified) is very hard to erase and write over. Chuck is a very deep character despite not being the main character, and he has just as many insecurities, angsts and complicated feelings as any protaganist. Chuck is a way more realistic and believable character than a Jimmy or Walt.
