She show is a shamless ripoff of BrBa but repackaged as a "prestige" show".They even got Jason Bateman for the lead, who is mostly known for comedic roles, similar to how Cranston was mostly known for playing Hal. The Walt/Jesse dynamic is replaced with Marty/Ruth but of course it's all readjusted and tonally different. Ruth still roughly follows the same template, being "streetwise" and hanging out with trashy locals.But overall it follows more of a "prestige" show format with emphasis on "political" drama and thriller elements rather than the campiness of BrBa.
