Just came back from the theater. It was filled to the brim with teenagers. Not a single one was watching Star Wars, they were watching Backrooms or Obsession, two low-budget zoomer horror films.

I think it's over for this franchise.

There's not really much plot for them to discuss
Mando gets hired to find Rotta the Buff by Jabba's brother and sister
Turns out they're trying to kill him
Mando attacks their palace, saves Rotta, blows it up, the end
It's a long pretty good episode of the TV show
>>
>>220834783

>>
>>220834783
That’s fucking hilarious.
>>
>>220837179
>wait this is actually the plot of the movie?
Yes and no. He gets put onto a job by the Republic to find Rotta because Jabba's cousins have info on the location of an Imperial Warlord (because hunting Imperials for the Republic is what he's doing) that they'll give in exchange for Rotta's return. The guy holding Rotta turns out to be the guy the Republic's after and so Mando foregoes the Hutts' deal and delivers the guy to the Republic and sets Rotta loose. Jabba's cousins don't like that and they send a bounty hunter for Mando in revenge. He gets rescued by Grogu and the two of them, with Rotta, get back at the Hutts and the Republic helps because the Hutts were gonna tip off the Imperial remnants anyway to get paid twice.

>then what the fuck do zeb and embo have to do with it?
Zeb works with Mando basically as a getaway pilot when he's hunting Imperials. Embo is the bounty hunter Jabba's cousins hire to bring Mando in.

There is nothing more uncool than being a Star Wars fan nowadays. Just imagine you're a zoomer getting on 4chan or reddit and you see the way Star Wars fans behave, just these horrible hate-filled incels bitching and moaning about everything and attacking everyone. You're hardly gonna think "Wow, I need to join that fanbase!"

Star Wars is dead, and Star Wars fans killed it.
>>
>>220837589
>where does the dragonsnakeworm thing come in during all of this?
It's the monster Jabba's cousins have beneath their main chamber. Basically the same premise as the Rancor under Jabba's throne room in RoTJ. They try to feed him to it but he escapes because Grogu breaks him out.
>>

They've always been like this. But even then, it was way, WAAY worse back in the 2000s. Believe it or not the fandom has cooled off a lot more since then because the pissed off Gen-Xers who were buttmad about the prequels have already started to die off in the last 15 years or so.

still, it's the fact that a hutt crime lord has a basement with a hungry monster and the hero gets dropped into it. that's arguably as bad as the giant chess board scene. i said it in yesterday's thread and i'll say it again, mando s1 did memberberries the right way, none of it was ever in your face and was far more subtle.

I am so glad Star Wars has entered into a death spiral from which it can never escape. They have lost the all-important youth demographic, and they will not be getting it back. Star Wars is as kitsch and nerdy to kids today as stuff like Lost in Space was when I was growing up. Prequels fans have chased away women and zoomers leaving only an audience of depressed, single, kissless, handholdless 30+ male virgins who are willing to pay to see this slop.

Star Wars is doomed. DOOMED.

>>
>>220837042
Do you people really think it "passed its production budget"? What about the theaters cut? This isn't even mentioning how heavily advertised it was.
>>
>>220838634
That's the issue here. Zoomers like the prequels and hate anything sequel related. What disney needs to do is either sell to the chinks or just call the last few movies "legends" or something stupid like that
>>
>>220834783
this will be the #1 streamed movie when it debuts on streaming

>>
>>220839342
>Zoomers like the prequels and hate anything sequel related.
Nope.
>>
>>220839342
Nah mate, zoomers don't like Star Wars full stop. They don't like the prequels, they don't like the sequels, they don't even like the original trilogy. My whole point is that Star Wars is radioactive dogshit to zoomers.
>>
>>220837680
>Star Wars is dead, and Star Wars fans killed it.
what compels people to simp for the billion dollar corporations in such a way?
>>
That movie should have being released on disc on streaming and not theater. it's perfectly fine and arguably much better than Season 3, Boba and even some part of Season 2, being closer to Season 1, but the movie is almost worthless if you are not a fan of the shows
The big theater return should have being the Starfighter movie, it would have being a lot more effective as it didn't had any baggage.
>>
>>220839406
I think you are confusing with the generation AFTER the zoomers. Almost all zoomers grew up with Star wars. Prequel or Sequel trilogy or the shows.
Zoomers are up to 2010 I think. So only the very late zoomers would be more likely to not watch. The early zoomers clearly grew up watching the prequels as they were between 9 and 5 when Episode 3 released

The people defending the Prequels are millennials anon. If you were a little kid when Phatom Menace came out you're in your 30s now, nearly 40. Its middle age men who based their whole lives on defending Jar Jar Binks as a good character.
>>
>>220839360
This has been the healthiest box office season since 2019. Original low-budget films like Obsession are finally making an impact in theaters. People just don’t give a fuck about Star Wars anymore.
>>
>>220839684
Anyone I know who are between 25 and 30 absolutely love the prequels
it's those who were olders who hated them and gave bad reviews
>>
>>220839703
The Phantom Menace came out 27 years ago. Anyone 25 to 30 wasn't born or was a toddler and wouldn't remember it.
>>
>>220839684
Just not true. 18-30 is the zoomer range now and they like the prequels for the most part.
>>
>>220839734
they could have watched it just a little later around the time of episode 2 or 3. You can very much easily understand a movie when you are 6 years old. Even if you don't get all the nuances.
>>
>>220839315
the production budget is about 170 million. the marketing budget brings the total up to 300 million, which is why everyone is bracing for the flop. it won't break even which is why i'm laughing at the cope articles claiming that the movie is doing well even though it's failing and doing worse than solo.

>>220838634
i told you yesterday when i outlined my old republic strategy, what lucasfilm needs is someone who understands george lucas' way of thinking and creating. then you'll see asses in seats again for star wars.
>>
>>220839703
>>220839739

>>
>>220839362
mandr is a zoomer and talks about his love of the prequels all the time, he even live streams events across USA and shows how much zoomers love the prequels
>>
>>220839853
Kek, this

The weird part is how they think it's somehow not obvious. The perils of autism I guess.
>>
>>220839769
Yeah I'm sure 2 - 5 year old zoomniggas were enthralled by all that politicking in the prequels back in the day and it made them lifelong fans.
>>
>>220839661
Andor had huge numbers. Is that not Star Wars?
>>
>>220839883
only episode 1 really focused as much on politics, episode 2 and 3 focused much more on actions. the plot is clear enough even without details
and hell, even if you don't understand all of the politics, you still have the action scenes, you don't have to understand EVERYTHING to like something
>>
>>220839853
You’re the middle aged one for apparently not being a 25 year old like me with friends who all like the prequels and don’t give a shit about anything after
>>
>>220839769
They could also watch episodes of Gunsmoke or the Brady Bunch, they just didn't. Where do you see Star Wars being mentioned in zoomer media?
>>
What the hell do Star Wars fans want? the EU? George Sequels? the Old Republic? probably if they adapt it it wont be the same as the games more OT? Star Wars fans will never be happy no matter what happens what Star Wars fans love is to hate Star Wars
>>
>>220839907
>I'm 25 with loads of friends, honest

Then why are you on 4chan?
>>
>>220839892
it only had numbers at the finale because people just waited and marathoned the whole thing
>>220839900
if you can't understand the politics of the prequels you are either 4 years old or actually handicapped
>>
The next movie will probably do better as it's not related to a long-running TV show which had a very lackluster last season
even in the case of the movie being considered decent, it had to convince viewers of the last season AND movie goer who don't watch the show.
It also has a bigger cast.
>>
>>220839946
I'm talking about the people who were kids watching the prequels, some might not have understood all the politics in the details, but they still understood the main plot
>>
>>220839957
the movie is only being considered decent because people are going in expecting nothing worthwhile.
>>
>>220839924
Decanonize the sequels and publicly crucify katleen kennedy, jj abrams and rian johnson on national tv
>>
>>220839970
It's not a matter of understanding, they're just dumb and boring.
>>
>>220839974
does it do anything really bad though? From what I'm reading, it's more that the movie is simple but still entertaining
>>
>>220839932
>Then why are you on 4chan?
And just like that, it was all over. All my lies came tumbling down, crashing all around me like the waves of the ocean. I was finished.
>>
>>220839957
The funniest thing is that Starfighter is a sequel to the Rey trilogy and Star Wars fans boycotted Solo the Mandalorian and Grogu because they hated the Sequels but they will watch Starfighter because it will seem fresh Star Wars fans create their own misery
>>
>>220840019
if it's set long enough after or with a different cast I don't think people will mind it still being set in the same world
like they say, it's a big galaxy
>>
>>220839970
anon i'm agreeing with you, i was 8 when phantom menace came out. i didn't immediately understand the politics but the movie made sense. it didn't take many repeat viewings to fully understand the film either. all that matters is how quickly your attention span developed to absorb the information put out.
>>220839999
that's just it, it's a simple adventure movie that doesn't do anything new or fantastic, and from what i've read/seen it's chock full of memberberries moments and ultimately doesn't push the mando's story forward at all. it's a waste of time and a vain attempt at making money and regaining a theatrical presence. they should have kept these scripts in season 4 and made the movie a separate side adventure altogether, one that could introduce the mandalorian to a new audience and give the returning fans something new to watch. this does neither.
>>
>>220840036
Starfighter that movie definitely deserves a Boycott more that will scare Disney and make them Retcon the Sequels but Star Wars fans are stupid
>>
>>220840053
it doesn't really have much member berries unless you are a die hard clone wars fan, and it's not in a "did you recognized the reference?" way, more just that they are existing characters. Same for the guy from Rebels.
If anything, the movie almost work very well on it's own. with the only issue it doesn't really tell anything about the two main characters to people who have not watched the show.
They could have replaced the two main characters with look-alike and it would have being almost the same movie.
Action scenes, design, effect and soundtrack are apparently very good though.

goose wars takes place about 5 years after rise of skywalker btw
the rumor is that the kid is being delivered to rey, who shows up at the end running a new jedi order
another rumor suggests he's somehow luke's son which makes no sense but then again this is disney star wars where continuity is a suggestion
>>
>>220840095

>>
>>220840171
nobody who sees this movie is seeing a star wars movie for the first time, anon.
>>
>>220840186
and it's probably why it also failed, despite working somewhat well alone, no new people would go see the movie due to the baggage of the show. And it had a mediocre final season.
it's also why I think the next movie will do better as it won't focus on an existing character
