Reminder that in T1, the Terminator wore sunglasses because he fucked up his face.
In T2 he wears them so the audience can say "I KNOW THAT IS"
>>

>"I KNOW THAT IS"
i literally yelled that in the theater when he put them on.

Yeah see exactly

I disagree with whoever said Arnold is not a good infiltrator unit and it should be some unassuming mousey dude. Sure that is one way to do it, but a buff scary guy can get away with a lot, whereas a small guy would instantly get into a physical altercation if they tried to walk into a restricted area or intimidate someone.

T1 is the only good film James Cameron ever made.

Like they wouldn't recognize Ahnold without them? What?
>>

Buff scary guys draw attention. small guys can disappear in the crowd. Just look at the Tech Noir scene. Arnold sticks out like a sore thumb. Kyle is just some random dude amongst the crowd

John Connor is not Sarah and Kyle's baby. Sarah miscarried. Is John really 10 in T2? No! Deal with it! Sarah is an actual literal homicidal maniac. Do you think maybe she did something after she miscarried?

reminder that in T1 he was supposed to be a killing machine — not to be reasoned with, not to be bargained with, absolutely relentless, absolutely unstoppable, programmed for one thing: kill Sarah Connor.

which he demonstrates immediately by murdering three men in the opening scene without hesitation, using only his bare hands.

except for when he casually drives to a gun store, browses like a normal customer, listens to the clerk’s sales pitch, makes small talk, and only after all that shoots him.

except for when he waits for a phone booth, gently nudges the guy using it aside, and calmly checks the directory like he’s running errands.

except for when he arrives at the first house, parks neatly, rests his hand on the hood, does a little hop up the curb, and politely knocks on the door to ask who lives there.

except for the second house, where he sneaks in through a back window, quietly suffocates a random man with a pillow, then unloads an entire magazine into a woman who is clearly not the target, and then checks her ID.

except for when he finally finds the real Sarah Connor and immediately abandons stealth, opening fire in a crowded nightclub, triggering a massive chase, shooting from a moving car, ramming vehicles, and crashing — only to stop, see police blocks away, and decide to slip off instead of finishing her with his bare hands. then he does the whole hotel scene, sunglasses and all, even pausing to fix his hair in the mirror.

then he shows up at the police station, politely asks to see Sarah, is told visitation is closed, leaves… and then drives a car through the front desk and kills every cop in the building without hesitation.

fast forward to the final scene, where he’s reduced to metal and one working arm, crawling through fire with absolute focus, finally acting like the unstoppable machine he was described as.

this movie spawned three decades of sequels.

I didn't even know it was Arnold until he put on the shades in T2. I was like: ''WTF? It's the killer robot from The Terminator!''. You have to remember, there was no interweb in 1992, so people didn't know what to expect going to the cinema.

If terminator were realistic, it would take place over the course of weeks or even years and it would need to be a tv show rather than a film.

I think this is true of alot of stories. The pacing is accelerated beyond realistic levels so that the story can have a beginning middle and end in one night and feel more intense.

Yes, but the advantage that T2 has over T1 is that Arnold's performance there is more consistently robotic. In the first film the Terminator has too many moments of human-like expression: he flinches in surprise, a manic glare forms on his face, he recklessly spray bullets like a some street gangster. He doesn't remain impassive at all times like a Terminator should.
>>
>>220854044
>like a Terminator should.
Why?
>>
>>220851855
But every example you give has him not stopping and not being reasoned with.

>Let's give him a super unpopular 100 year old shotgun that wasn't even popular when it came out for some reason
>also we will give one to brandon fraizer in the second mummy film even though it would literally be a downgrade to his shotgun from the first film since it's an earlier (and shittier) model.

Shit on Dark Fate all you want but I don't think you can deny Arnold gives a surprisingly good performance in it. Where for the first and likely only time in a Terminator he's not hiding behind the Oh he's a robot so he's SUPPOSED to lack emotion or expressiveness. He would have been like that when he killed John, but then spent decades learning to be more human
>>
>>220855246
I like how after he finished his mission, he had nothing else to do, abandoned in that time with no connection or orders and just started a life,
was nothing personal to him
