Millennials almost killed cinema. Zoomers are saving it. Apologize.
>>220851791Their next movies will be terrible. Seen this movie before.
>muh millennials>muh Gen Z What a retarded way of thinking. Two young directors came out with good movies. No group is taking over anything and this isn't noteworthy.
>>220851877>What a retarded way of thinking.Especially since those terms were invented by marketing departments and don't have any kind of basis in reality. Just another console war for morons to work themselves up in a frenzy about.
This schlock being widely discussed is indicative of the poor state of movies being released.
>>220851791It's a healthy sign for cinema. Millennials really fucking suck bad at art. What have they made? Everything Everywhere all at Once? Midsommar?
>>220851791>yo i finna noclip binna didda backrooms bix nood yo nocap frfr! Please God, send another flood

>>220851877backrooms is bad
>>220851791I won't apologize for shit. Millennials aren't responsible for the shit state the industry is in, gen x and boomers are for making sure the only millennials who ever got put in charge were liberal faggots and women. Fuck gen x, fuck boomers, and fuck zoomers if you're going to keep buying their fucking lies
>>220851877An anonther thread said it bestYeah, it's weird. Millennials are more likely to throw their own under the bus, unless they actually do something of merit."Millennial film maker" Max Landis was more or less immediately pinned by Millennials as being an annoying fake faggot (even if a couple of his movies are alright, actually). Meanwhile Robert Eggers is celebrated for making great films, but no one cares how old he is.If either of those guys was a zoomer, you'd be seeing constant gloating threads, simply because a *zoomer* made a movie. get this, guys. A Zoomer did something...Not beating the generation of narcissists allegations, I'm just saying.

Everyone is missing a key point. Where are the good films that were made by millennials in their twenties? Nothing comes to mind. I wonder why...>>220852818Seething millenicuck living in the ashes of the dying boomer empire. Zoomers are better than you in every respect>Fitter>Hotter>Smarter>Superior artistic sensibilityThere is nothing that millennials do better other than knowing how to torrent movies.
>>220851791Dear zoomers, in the name of all millenials, this unc offers you the most sincere aplogy. Our generation fucked up. Thank you for rescuing cinema
>>220851832Literally this. Blair Witch and Paranormal Activity all over again. >OMG THE NEXT SPIELBERGHope they enjoy this victory lap cause it’s one and done
>>220852704>If either of those guys was a zoomer, you'd be seeing constant gloating threads, simply because a *zoomer* made a movie. get this, guys. A Zoomer did something...easy to explain, zoomers have been the punching bag generation like no one before. it's also like this because zoomers have the most generational awareness compared to previous ones. these two combined make for a generationally-tribal bunch
>>220852807ywnbaw
>>220852917you're just millennials with dumber hair
>>220853173>easy to explain, zoomers have been the punching bag generation like no one before.bullshit, that is and remains the millennials
>>220853796millennials take it out on zoomers. we have to deal with the compounded punching down of boomers, xoomers and millennials, and the alpha bastards kicking us in the balls while we're at it. millennials only really get shat on by boomers , the rest are completely oblivious to them
By adapting creepypastas that were probably written by millennials, back in 2010?
>>220851791>Millennials almost killed cinemahow's that?
>>220853851The Fortnite dance class was just really funny, okay? We all do retarded stuff when we're children, it's fine. You can laugh too. >No! You have besmirched my honor!

Hollywood does seem to be very secure if two guys can take over. I wonder if there will be any counter offensive. Will the two guys have to fight each other for the crown?
>>220853851fuck you zoomers, boomers and gen x ALL take their shit out on millennials
>>220852704>"Millennial film maker" Max Landis was more or less immediately pinned by Millennials as being an annoying fake faggot (even if a couple of his movies are alright, actually)I felt that way because of his shitty Ghostbusters sequels. All this generation shit is just tiresome and zoomers will start crying when alpha starts in on them (which will happen soon since zoomers fear getting old for some reason).>>220853173> zoomers have been the punching bag generation like no one beforeYeah, nobody has ever punched down on boomers before.
>>220851907This is the only good take.
Millennial directors like Aster, Cregger and Eggers walked so those two zoomers could run
>>220851791Obsession was good, Backrooms was extremely mid. The guy who made Obsession has also tried a lot of different things over the years while the Backrooms kid is a one trick pony.
>>220854110when you were the youngest around, sure. then we made the scene and suddenly all lights on us, and you teamed up with them because you were starving for belongship. fuck you and your elders millennail fuck, i hope your fur baby chokes on a chicken bone
>>220853998Obsession already won and it's not even close. People on Twitter and YouTube are already tearing Backrooms apart for being boring and deviating too far from the YouTube series.
>>220853173nta, to add to this zoomers are a cultural monolith, millenials and genx all had niches and cliques, they all sat at different tables in cafeteria and hung out in different corners of the internet. zoomers aren't like that, they all watch tiktok and they are all on twitter, they all have the same haircut. unrionically its similar to the way boomers are
I'm 42 and noticed this happening over a decade ago, only to get worse in the woke eraOutside of Eggers, there's not a "creative" around my age that I admire. And this isn't only a movie's problem; literature, journalism, music, video games, photography, everything done by millennials has been shit. Things being done by zoomers are at least a breath of fresh air. I'm seriously tired of millennial tropes, the last 15-20 years have probably been the least creative era in pop culture, in other decades, it felt like there was a shakeup every five years or so, but with millennials, it felt that the people that took control from that age group (women, fags, shitskins, numales) never allowed other voices to rise
>>220854220Fuck you. You're in the exact same seat as us and instead of rightfully shitting on gen x and boomers for causing this shit you join them in shitting on us. So nah, millennials should burn this rotten fucking world to the ground because everyone in it are pure fucking shit
>>220854342Scary. I've always felt it's probably a result of widespread internet access and it's removed a lot of niche cliques. You've really got to wonder how fucked up Gen A are going to be once they start getting older.
>Millennials almost killed cinema. There are fuck all actual big Millennial directors and the ones that are big are considered some of the best directors of the past decade
>>220854380The issue wasn't millennials, it was boomers in media retaining their hold and being out of touch. It's the same issue with politics were only in the last 2 or 3 years that millennials are actually getting elected. The average age for politicians and studio execs is 64.
this KILLS the millennial
>>220854380You literally replied to your own answer, millennials that were allowed to thrive were the guys that woke shitters allowed to.It's very evident with books, you won't get published if you don't tick a leftist list, hence why self-publishing, podcasters and grifters.
>>220851791A really bad movie based on a meme that is being heavily promoted by terminally online gen HRTs who are still upset that everyone on this site made fun of them for fortnite dancing and eating tide pods.Imagine the sorts of "creativity" you'll get out of people raised on cellphones and tablets, consuming tiktoks and totally unable to communicate except in meme pidgin.
>>220854480This is an amazing readhttps://www.compactmag.com/article/the-lost-generation/Imagine the amount of amazing millennial voices we never heard because hiring practices were more concerned about ticking DEI boxes, instead of hiring people that had interesting things to tell or had a decent work ethic
>>220854402>widespread internet accessit's more about the consolidation of media imo, the internet has been filtered down to only a handful of websitesit's similar to how boomers were the TV generation, tv got consolidated into a few major networks. they all got their opinions directly from late night television hosts and were quite an easy demographic to pander to, it's much harder to appeal to all millennials or all gen x because their subcultures are much more diverse.>You've really got to wonder how fucked up Gen A are going to be once they start getting older.I do wonder about that sometimes, the kind of media that appeals to them is some of the lowest literacy stuff out there, it's mostly just abstract images and funny sounds. i'm guessing their literacy rate is abysmal
>>220854480Zoomers tend to be really low IQ and think the world sprung into existence, fully formed, only when they became aware of it. They see the current state of reddit or social media and they think this represents authentic millennial culture, and isn't the result of more than a decade of widespread, coordinated-with-governments censorship efforts to promote a particular view and silence everything else. Zoomers love to come to a millennial website and use millennial terminology to describe themselves, "based!", and then if you examine their behaviors or what they consider based you'll find it's just online millennial culture from 2005. They're going to convince themselves they invented acid wash jeans and bell bottoms any day now.
>>220854583>the internet has been filtered down to only a handful of websitesTrue, there's not a lot of places to go anymore. >I do wonder about that sometimes, the kind of media that appeals to them is some of the lowest literacy stuff out there, it's mostly just abstract images and funny sounds. i'm guessing their literacy rate is abysmalI've have to think so, especially considering things like Skibidi Toilet and those YouTube channels like CocoMelon. I've seen some really young mothers pushing prams along with iPad holders just playing YouTube junk for their babies, there's no way that crap isn't rotting their brain.
>>220854583this is what happens with mindless, zero-effort consoomingI know this is unpopular take, but this was caused by zero-effort piracy and ridiculous low prices to access catalogs of endless "content"Few interesting things are able to shine because "views" and "plays" are the only metrics that matter. Before widespread piracy and endless consooming, it was obvious a trend had a future by following the money and the effort real people were doing to get it
>>220854671>True, there's not a lot of places to go anymore. If you think about zoomer websites compared to boomer television, in boomer tv there's mostly just the red team channels or the blue team channels and as an outsider, they're both just different flavors of the same bullshit. i'm not exposed to a lot of zoomer media because I checked out of pop culture years and years ago and don't really know many, but from what I've seen it's the same shit but confined to different websites rather than different television channels.>Skibidi Toilet and those YouTube channels like CocoMelonto clutch my pearls a little bit, it's somewhat of a tragedy and neglect on the part of the parents. you'd think that they would care enough about their kids to try to give them the best advantage possible in life and steer them towards children's media that would help them develop their minds rather than turn them into mush, but i don't have a horse in this race either way
>>220854755>you'd think that they would care enough about their kidsLoving parents are a myth, most are just trying to wait it out and not get arrested.
>>220854755Laziness is my guess, they probably don't realize how hard parenting will be and want to take the easy route so they can still do their own doomscrolling and shit instead of having to entertain their kid.
>>220851791Putting the slop factory out of business and making our own fun out of the ensuing shitshow was awlays the endgame. By all means though, enjoy your mid crap
>>220851877>Two young directors came out with good moviesAre the good movies in the room with us?

>>220851791Film is a dead medium in the west.
>>220854874When's the last time you were able to form a complete sentence without meme pidgin or using a meme template sentence? Do you even remember?
>>220854732boomers, gen x and millennials are all massive consumers to though, the difference being with zoomers and boomers is as cultural monoliths their trends get much more play than the millennial who's been buying retro games for 20 years or the gen x who's been collecting CD's for 30. it's not that the other generations aren't consumerist and I agree that consumerism is a negative trait, but I don't think millennials and gen x are any less consumerist than boomers or zoomers, it's something we all share. think about how many boomers you know who fell for the deck meme, every boomer had to have a deck for no reason, think about all the zoomers that fell for the sweatpants meme, but with gen x and millennials the market share is much smaller for their consumerist habits, they're still there just more fragmented. you probably knew some gen x'ers who fell for the skater meme, you probably know some millenials who fell for the vinyl meme, but while they were doing that there were other consumer trends that were equally as big and popular whereas with boomers and zoomers that's not the case.
I love fig bars
>>220854795well that's a real shame because at least with my generation they cared about developing a kids mind and the people who didn't were the minority.>>220854838might just be that it's the new normal, when i was being raised it was the trend to buy your kids shit that helped them learn and grow, i forget the term for it, something like educational media, that's not it but it had a specific marketing term that meant children's toys and medias that were designed to strengthen their mental faculties
>>220855008>at least with my generation they cared about developing a kids mindThey absolutely did not.
>>220854216Kane is a really talented vfx artist, that's his shtick. The movie wasn't even written by him because all of his videos are basically "yo check out this sick Blender thing"
Choose your fighter
>>220855027Yeah that explains a lot, he's definently talented at VFX and designs, but his story telling is really poor and the movie highlighted this the most. I'm also not sure if he wrote it or not, the way the third act just falls apart seems strange and I find it hard to believe an industry veteran would write characters that badly. But then again, it's an A24 production, so who knows.
>>220855065Obsession is wayyyyyy better than Backrooms.
>>220855065Baker, he actually tries other shit and knows how to write a story.
>>220855026yeah i still can't place the term but it was a big meme, might have been developmental aids or something like that, but kids were encouraged by their parents to play with blocks, put those stupid little square pegs into the square holes, play snakes and ladders, get into sports etc, and any family that wasn't doing that shit was poo pooed
>>220855095That's not caring about developing a kids mind, that's going with the crowd and doing what everyone else is doing. It's actually the exact same mindset that sees so many kids raised by tablets today.
>>220854342this is true and it creeps me the fuck out

>>220855073It was written by a guy who's mostly done television work
>>220855111yeah but it had the unintended consequences of sharpening a kids mind rather than turning it to mush with an ipad
>>220851791That's the dumbest thing I've read on this board today. Stop shilling this bs like it's some kind of phenomenon.
>>220855198We're saving cinema, shitlennial. Get the fuck out of my thread.
>>220855115it is kind of unsettling, when you go outside and you see a group of quintessential boomers all with their khaki pants and polo's then you see the group of zoomers all with their brocoli heads and airpods. it's fuckin weird they're all drones
>>220855198It's not true position, nothing posted here ever is. Various discords and terminally online types have identified the movie as a useful tool for trolling, and that's what it's being used for. Someone who hasn't even seen the movie and might even be a millennial themselves posts the thread, "what now, SHITlennial!? Get it, I called you millennial but with SHIT!" and they just wait for the replies to roll in. This pattern is used here fifty times a day. 4chan isn't really a place for people to talk about anything anymore, it's a place for jeets to practice English and for discords to compete to try to piss each other off.

>>220854663I don't think this applies to all zoomers, or that generations vary that much intellectually, but you are definitely correct that the current snapshot of culture that reflects onto millennials has been carefully curated by corporations and bad actors into something wholly unnatural. But millennials do deserve some blame for not pushing back more on the state of things
Anyone else noticing that (((they))) are trying really hard to force a generational war between millenials and gen z?
>>220855780And Millennials will fall for it kek stupid fuckin shits

>>220854474But boomers told us that only millenials like avocado toast (and that's a bad thing).
>>220851791Horror is capeshit for theater kids.
As time goes on I begin the suspect that the Boomers were mostly correct in their assessments of Millennials.
>>220855894Hard to argue at this point, that Backrooms kid is about as theater kid as they come. His interviews are some of the most pretentious shit possible.
>>220854179>zoomers fear getting old for some reasonZoomers are defined by their youth. You can already see it. Gen Alpha is young but they're already developing their slang and identity so zoomers are worried about being "unc", that's why they're so angry ay millennials. Their style and way of life is based around an idea that their 20s would never end. Now they're approaching 30 and they can't come to terms with their fleeting youth. They're a generation in arrested development. It's really interesting.
>>220855329Every zoomer male wears shorts too. It's weird. They hate pants and jeans.
>>220855941>They're a generation in arrested developmentOn real shaky ground there millennifren

>>220855941Everyone is defined by their youth. Once your idea of "you" is set, and your idea of how the world works is set, it's almost impossible to shake it. That all happens in your 20s and pretty early too.
>>220855846I looked up to most older people when I was a kid, which is why it's frustrating that they all unanimously seem to hate me, and blame me for things that they literally did>A bloobloo participation trophies and there are no violent cartoons on TV anymore!Right, like that was something I decided on. >>220855771>I don't think this applies to all zoomers, or that generations vary that much intellectuallyNo, you can find innumerable sources all demonstrating the same thing, gen Z as a whole is measurably less intelligent than prior generations. This is often blamed on gen Z also being the brownest generation in recorded history, and while that certainly plays a role one only needs to speak to a White zoomer for a few minutes to see it isn't limited to just Jose.
The creepypasta was most likely made by a millennialAlso, the movie did the classic hollywood thing, where they hook you in and then disappoint with ab underwhelming ending. Like the other anon, said, it 's just like paranormal activity and blair witch projectI'm not really seeing how Backrooms is daving hollywood Obsession was pretty good
>>220851791Zoomers, I'm sorry. I was wrong, I am a stupid old cringe unc and I accept your victory in the generation wars. np cap frfr
>>220856235>The creepypasta was most likely made by a millennialThere's no most likely about it, that post alone is almost 7 years old at this point and the original thread with the OG image and similar images is from over 12 years ago.>I'm not really seeing how Backrooms is daving hollywood Obsession was pretty goodIt's not, the big thing is "wow a SECOND new zoomer director??" and that's the big thing. >>220856151yeah, but we aren't assholes about it.

There hasn’t been a good movie in 10 years because either its catered to Gen Z or made by Gen Z (the least creative and lowest IQ gen)
Gen Z like to play it very safe. They never want anything to be too offensive, authentic, or real.>Gen Z "horror"? not too scary>Gen Z "sleazy"? not too sleazy >Gen Z "sexy"? not too hot etc. etc. They are the "safe" generation
>>220856330And brownest, GenXers cannot die fast enough
>>220856266Do we really need to be celebrating hacky horror slop?Like, who cares? It's a disposable genre. Honestly, it says something about the immaturity of zoomers that this is what they're into. Saw, and Five Nights at Freddies. Not even good horror like Alien or something.
>>220856339Idk man, I agree with your first two points but Gen Z girls are super gooners and will max out their sex appeal. The opposite is true of zoomer guys though, which is accurate considering they're the gen that interacts with women the least according to studies.
>Zoomers are dumb algo zombies who idolize nigs>Millennials are soi and suffering from terminal shitlibbery>Neither have the strength nor the will to defy Boomers in any meaningful way>Both are eternal manchildrenNeither generation has exactly covered themselves in glory.
>>220856386Just as many Millennials hate the shitlibbery. That's literally what the "culture war" is. Millennials are pretty much split down the middle.
>>220856386Boomers remain in power well beyond the ages people did in the past, it's hard to move up if nobody ever steps down. Politicians are currently the oldest they've ever been in history for example.
>>220856386Millennials are racist and use dark humor, but are also the highest IQ generation and didn’t fall for trump cult cuckoldry.

>>220856386>Neither generation has exactly covered themselves in glory. And they never will. We are the Last Men. >>220856520Boomers shat on everything the greatest generation fought for, fhey were the original problem
>>220856355>hacky horror slopI don't get how more people are calling it out for this. It's just a classic example of hollywood hooking you in and not being able to deliver because they really have nothing to say. Maybe I expect too much for films, but I don't know why anyone would act like this is anything better than like a haunted house
>>220856419Millennials are 4chan vs. Reddit: The Generation. Redditors are consoomers who slurped up the propaganda and maybe slid into a comfy upper level position as a result of woke nepotism, and then there's the rest of us who hate their guts, railled against it the whole way through, and basically became arrested development losers who are hopelessly nostalgic for a world that doesn't exist anymore. The former are more likely to have their piece of the pie and, therefore, want to uphold and legitimize the hellscape they believed in as it was lowered down to them, and are therefore the most vocal and irritating. Not to mention, so much of the Internet is just flat out gone from the 2000s other than only the most iconic legacy memes, so it's hard for younger generations to understand the context for certain things, but regardless, I think you're gonna see real soon a lot of late bloomer Millennials waking up and joining forces with the rest of us as it becomes increasingly apparent who the real troublemakers are, and they're gonna be scorned and radicalized at the state of the world. Not just entertainment. There's a lot of NPC Millennials still, but it's gonna change.
>>220856568>I don't get how more people are calling it out for this.A lot of people are, which is causing some spergouts. Even that MoistCritikal soitard made a video about people dumping on Backrooms for being boring or badly written and defended it staunchly. So there are some loud enough voices calling it mediocre and people can't handle that apparently.
>gen x gets a passwhy though
>>220856151They're identity is their childhood, not being young itself. Millennials just want it to be the early 2000s all the time and constantly experience the media of their childhood. Zoomers just want to be the youngest generation. Having a Harry Potter obsession while pushing 40 is one thing but Zoomers are on a fast track to being this guy
>>220856753They just don't matter much. Zoomers are basically an demake of them anyway.
>>220856471They fell for woke idolatry and still do. They're just waiting for their moment to bring it back. How much better are they than the retarded boomers, then?
>>220856788About as accurate as it gets.
>>220856753They're the forgotten generation. They have nothing that identifies them and no real struggle. They lived better lives than the boomers and ruined just as much but get forgotten because they're sandwiched in between two more famous generations
>>220851791Millennials are responsible for gay woke therapy shit flooding Hollywood. The past decade has been le subvert expectations slop and if you deny this, you are fucking stupid. It's not surprising the next gen thinks that shit is lame and are taking it as a sign of what not to do
>>220856788That's still arrested development. Just on a parallel track.
>>220856859That's Gen X and the younger boomers. Millennials consumed it because they were the target audience
>>220856859>The past decade has been le subvert expectations slop and if you deny this, you are fucking stupidlmao are you actually retarded enough to think that those two movies are a rejection of that? they are literally exactly what you described
>>220856859>It's not surprising the next gen thinks that shit is lame and are taking it as a sign of what not to doBut zoomers are still doing that subverting shit, arguably even worse than before.
>>220856859It's not surprising the next gen thinks that Millennials are responsible for that because we should've been in the age of Millennials writing and directing a long time ago now, but we're not. Time stopped moving after 2012.
Generation X really manages to slither through the cracks despite all the fuck shit they have pulled.
>>220856886Millennials love their media but understand that they're adults. Zoomers meanwhile have infantilize themselves. That's why you see shit like "I'm just a girl", "22yo post minor", or complaing about "problematic age gaps". Zoomers still see themselves as underage while pushing 30.
>>220856653>4chan vs. Redditit's more like 4chan vs. Reddit vs TumblrReddit was pretty much 4chan adjacent until 2016, no different than the former caturday/chanology anons that thrived here in the late 2000s, full of cringy tip-fedora new atheist libertariansTumblr is the really evil place, it radicalized a generation of millennial women and fags and they later infected Reddit and Twitter into the devils they became during the woke era. Twitter fell because the blue checkmarks loved that they finally had a "vox populi" to legitimize their degeneracy, reddit felt because they are lonely losers that finally got validated about being "on the right side of history"I also miss bodybuilding.com's misc, the purest place that ever existed on young millennial internet
>>220856946People are gradually noticing, it's hard to ignore the fact that they were the last gen that could afford homes and were also responsible for the 2008 global financial crisis.
>>220856955>Tumblr>RedditSomething Awful troons that used the lessons they learned there to infiltrate mod postions and subvert established userbases are the poison that corrupted those spaces.
>>220856975Largely responsible for the 2020 lock downs as well
>>220856955>Reddit was pretty much 4chan adjacent until 2016I totally agree with you on this, there's a lot of old comments from 2010 reddit I'll randomly see while Google searching something, and it looks like something that would be deleted from a moderator in 2026.
>>220856941>Millennials are the highest IQ generation with the most raw talent and vision>Millennials were the first and only generation that couldn't make it into the big leagues when their time came upSchrodinger's Millennial, the hotshot fuck ups
>>220856975I'll give the X'ers this much, they know how to shut the fuck up. They pull slimy shit all the time but they don't catch flack for it because they know that if you don't hang a target on yourself then you won't get shot at. The Boomer/Millennial tendency to be in love with the sound of their own voices really helps them with this.
>>220856910Millennials like Rebecca Sugar share big part of the guilt
>>220851791>Irrelvant clickbait article>Lust provoking images
>>220851791SOIllenials SEETHING
I liked the two found footage parts of Backrooms, amateur everything else but visually the movie is great. The script was just amateur and needed some work, there's the very obvious voiceover themes at the start that just really pulls you out.Opening, clark and the two employees exploring and the distorted ending are amazing. Director is clearly VFX focused.Fuck, as a zoomer it motivated me into giving filmmaking a proper try. Liked it way more than Obsession.
>>220857095You think Steven Universe is the reason for woke shit and the massive progressive influence of culture? Are you 16? Rebecca Sugar is a product of that culture, not it's cause.
>>220851904Kids who grew up with iPads are different from the rest of humanity in fundamental ways. Same with the boomers who were all raised with lead poisoning
>>220852686This. Boomers made sure that nobody from Gen X or the millennial generation ever threatened their leadership positions by using affirmative action to promote mediocre women and minorities instead of ambitious and talented white men.
>>220857141Film-making isn't as easy as you think. Backrooms kid is a talented VFX artist and knows how to use Blender, but he's not a good writer or director. He would actually be a really bad example for inspiration. If you want to be a good filmmaker, learn about composition and lighting first. t. worked in commercial photography and videography
>>220857179boomers are the cause of all our problems, I mean I hate everything they produced including their own kids but they're the culprit for everything at the end of the day. the post-war generations care about NOTHING except enriching themselves and enjoying the splendor of the world before they let it die with them. they have no long-term vision, no successors, nothing.
>>220857142She was a Typhoid Mary either way.
>>220852807I do think zoomers have some positive qualities and millennials as a whole are completely deranged faggots but zoomers have also had their brains rotted from too young an age.
>>220857201I know what you mean and yeah after watching the movie I went to see his series, which is the only tolerable version of the concept. Very talented at VFX and Blender. It obviously came across during the film given it feels like and most likely the set design informed everything else, felt very empty. A stronger director would have done better, the clunky dialogue and themes. Composition, lighting, got it! As inspiration I meant on the age, though he is younger than me, oh well.>t. worked in commercial photography and videographyhow was it? if you dont mind sharing a bit
I kinda miss Stomp Clap Hey brehs...
>oh no im slaming my cute crush that i used magical means to attain and is being forced to scream like a slut against her will to the point that it damages her psychically, woe is me im truly the victim here
>>220857218That's like calling some random English girl in 1352 responsible for the Black Death just because that's when you first saw a case.
>>220857294We got an Adventure Time fan here boys
>>220857275why are men's asses shaved bare in hollywood productions?
>>220857243>Composition, lighting, got it! As inspiration I meant on the age, though he is younger than me, oh well.I see, fair enough. But yeah, composition and lighting, photography and videography all revolve around that. Story is obviously important too but trying to make a movie without knowing anything about how to actually make the movie won't work. A lot of videographers start off as photographers, so start there since capturing a still image is easier than something moving and that has a lot of ever changing variables. >how was it? if you dont mind sharing a bitA truly mixed bag. I found that it would often zap my passion, as once you start doing something you loved as a hobby as being your main job, you feel lost in your free time. I stopped picking up my camera or doing any personal projects for a long time once I started working in it. It's different for everyone though, I think I just felt limited since I was just handling equipment and being told what to do with it, rather than making my own creative decisions with it.
>>220852917Millennials are especially hard to deal with on 4chan, because a lot of the ones here are terminal nostalgiafags about everything. Plus the ones stuck here have a high likelihood of already being in a midlife crisis.
>>220851791>Hollywood being very defensive against millennial internet creators that were growing in the 2010's. Doesn't open their industry to anyone but acquaintance of already established industry people>2020 was the year the industry finally takes internet seriously because of COVID>only gen z can take advantage of itWithout COVID, none of this would happen. I seriously think that 80% of the normalfags discovered internet culture at that time.
>>220852917You'd have to provide a list of Millennial film makers first. I honestly don't know many, because we never had this same fiction on proving "we can do it".For what it's worth Max Landiss' films are like fine actually. People just hate him, because he's insufferable. Knox from Newgrounds made a full movie with a shitty consumer grade camcorder and some modeling clay when he was 17, if that counts.
>>220856060They don't understand that everything cool was produced on the Internet and no one but old geezers were still watching TV in the 2010's. Streaming was just a rebroadcast of TV shows.
>>220857656that too. If you want to know where all of the creative energy went, it went three places: Newgrounds, Youtube, and Steam.
>>220857328This was an issue before Adventure Time. Just admit you're underaged and take your ban
>>220857022I've been reading some old AMA's and it's crazy to see that type of content on redditLike a dude responding to an actual female celebrity with some eye-rolling casually sexist joke that even back then would be considered inappropriate due to the context, but not only gets upvoted, it also starts that annoying waterfall of quippy comments like "This!" "And my axe!"

>>220857404Thanks a lot, I was doing reading so sorry for taking forever to reply. I've heard that a lot, turning passion into work quickly leads to getting used to it or losing a spark for it. >>220854663>Zoomers tend to be really low IQ and think the world sprung into existence, fully formed, only when they became aware of it.This always kills me about zoomers. When we were kids we had the "born in le wrong generation" meme to mock people who always worshipped old pop culture shit like music and movies and said everything was shitty nowadays compared to the 80s or the 70s or whatever.. This being a meme shows how popular that mindset was back then. With zoomers, they seem to think that everything made before they became self conscious is lame as hell. A zoomer will never listen to old music. A zoomer will never play an old game. A zoomer will never watch an old anime. A zoomer will never watch an old movie. It's so fucking bizarre. Sure, we used to think people who worshipped old culture were lame, but we'd listen to both new and old shit, we'd watch movies from before we were born and new shit as well. Ask an anime zoomer if he's ever watched Cowboy Bebop or EVA. Ask a music zoomer if he's listened to Metallica. Ask a vidya zoomer if he's ever played Planescape Torment or Starcraft/Warcraft. Literally the most basic entry level shit, they'll say they consider the very idea of consooming these, to be cringe.
>>220852917You're on a millennial website, buddy. All you've done is regurgitate our ideas and memes, and make them lame and gay.
>>220854380Millennials had virtually zero impact on cinema because boomers and their gen x pets had gatekept them from the industry. They've had much bigger success with music industry because music producers understand you have to bring in fresh faces from time to time. Video game industry is pretty much gen X baby. Boomers might have laid the foundation but they never had much interest in it beyond financial gain. Despite the sheer number of millenial devs in the games industry, gen x are still tightly holding on to control, at least in the AAA scene. Millennials had larger success with indie games and low budget games from small to mid sized studios they created. >zoomers are saving cinemaZoomers have nearly destroyed the movie theater business because they're antisocial and don't go out for movies, except when they directly pander to them, like with Minecraft movie, FNAF and this liminal spaces horseshit. I'm certain the inevitable Fortnite and Among Us movies are also going to be hugely successful. In this regard (and many other ways as well), zoomers are like blacks, who also only watch movies that pander to them. In short, millennials are always blamed for everything despite having nothing to do with it, and zoomers are gloating after experiencing a little bit of mild success and acting like they've revolutionized cinema with some slop that nobody outside their generation cares about.
>Zoomers saved cinema with some profitable horror films!Nigga Hollywood wants movies that are making billions with a B
>>220857375Why are we not afraid to show man ass, but showing women nudity is seen as immoral?
>>220860578You don't have to be a horror fan to like a horror movie. I'm not a fantasy fan at all, in fact I think most of it is pure slop with garbage writing and world building particularly the high fantasy kind, but I still love the LOTR trilogy.

>>220851877People suck the (jewish) cock of Spilberg and Lucas and tell boomers are the best directora thanks to them.
>>220851791>>220851877Exactly. None of this is organic. It's still Jews having almost complete cultural control over the media business. Jewish directors, writers and half-jewish actors (because you need people, who don't look fucking disgusting)
